George Michael’s comments don’t fit with the theme of the thread either.

I also wanted to know what famous people thinks he's innocent and perhaps those who does not? Perhaps we can make a list.

^^^ That was not the original intent of this thread. We all know the people who championed his guilt. No need to spread their bullshit here.

The intent was to show famous people's comments on it. Seems like most celebrities supports him.

I mean if you don't have a strong opinion either way... doesn't it make sense to be on the fence rather than give a false opinion that sways either way? It makes sense to be on the fence and no one said he should have given a "false opinion". He should just have left out that remark IMO. I am not saying that he should have put up a speech in MJ's defense. And yes, it can mean anything. But "I don't think we can ignore that, but its important for us to affirm what was best of him" does seem like he implies a "difficulty" that MJ was accused of doing and not something that he was a victim of (eg. difficulties like his father beating him). Or let's say he meant drugs. Then compare his comments about Robin Williams or Prince when they died. Full of respect. No mention of Williams' "difficulties" for example (addiction to cocain) or Prince also dying of drug overdose. No saying "well, we cannot ignore all the difficulties in Williams/Prince's private life but we should remember the best of him". Personally what Obama said of MJ left a bitter taste in my mouth and I think it was a cowardly "politically correct" statement to try to appease everyone - including those who disliked MJ. I think it also took a couple of days until he came out with a statement at all, whereas in Prince's or Williams' case he came out relatively quickly. I think in MJ's case he probably wasn't sure initially how people would react to his death and when he saw the global outpoor then he felt safe enough to make a comment. In case, he referred to the allegations. Fact is MJ was tried in court and found not guilty. If Obama has any respect for the American Justice System (and as a President he should) then he should have just left it unmentioned IMO. I agree with you respect77. Regardless of what "difficulties" in MJ's life he was referring to, it was inappropriate for the President to mention it in a statement/comment following his recent death. He should have left it at "He was the greatest entertainer" (or whatever he said). However, he put that "BUT" in there and it wasn't necessary. I wasn't happy with the way he handled MJ's death compared to subsequent celebrity deaths later on. He deliberately avoided giving an official statement and MJ's death was huge. MJ paved the way even for Obama, and I sometimes wonder if he realizes that. On another note, I'm extremely conflicted by Elton John's comment that was previously posted. I didn't know he said that...

Gene Simmons does not fall into that category. Yes, but my original post says if we could make a list over those who supported him and perhaps those who did not. I was also curious who Tom Mesereau was referring to who supported him after his death but wouldn't support him in 2005. I already added Obama's comment in the first post too? Nobody reacted to that I posted it. I'm sorry if it offended someone by adding Simmons comments though! I won't add more of the negative ones if I come across them. I wasn't aware you allowed the thread only because you thought there would only positive ones. That is what you're saying then? I thought its interesting what famous people have said no matter what it is.

If you are interested in who Mesereau might have thought of it doesn't make much sense to quote Gene Simmons or George Michael either. They weren't MJ's friends or in his personal circles. And the only thing Elton John could have testified about is him helping MJ to get rehab in 1993 which wasn't a relevant topic at the 2005 trial. He wasn't a close friend either. He just takes it upon himself to help other celebrities with drug issues (did the same with Eminem). Why would these people be called to testify by Mesereau?

I wasn't saying that. I was just referring to the intent of the thread since MattyJam seem to reduce it just to its title despite the opening post said both those who supported him and those who didn't, and already included Obama's quite negative comment from the get go.
Yes, I was additionally interested in who Tom Mesereau was referring to, but even you yourself has added people here that was beside that.

I only added Madonna who was besides the Mesereau point, but then she wasn't beside the title of the thread.

stillborn - cards on the table time... I've been told, from two separate members on this board, that you are a well known hater from another MJ board. I don't care about what went down on other MJ fansites and am all for giving you a fair chance on here, but you have already raised several red flags, with practically all your posts being about the allegations and by quoting known MJ haters like Gene Simmons. Whilst these things in isolation don't break any rules, it does make me wonder as to your true intentions for joining. If you are infact somebody whose sole interest in being here is to discuss a belief that MJ is guilty, then I'd ask you to do the decent thing and quit posting now. If I have you wrong, then I apologise. I can only go by what others have told me, I just can't be bothered to play this game, I'd rather be uprfront and fast-track this whole thing, especially if your posts are going to become increasingly trollish in nature.

Yeah and you added Nirvana too, Respect77. So you must have understood the thread was beyond the Mesereau question.
I should have added it in the title too perhaps, point taken, but its there from post #1 of the thread that I was interested in all kind of comments on it by famous people. I thought everybody would be. Its just opinions after all? Whats the harm of showcasing them?
Edit: I'll pm you, MattyJam.

Haha TonyR. Yes, indeed my username seems to symbolize my tragic demise here on the forum. Not a very long liferun at least. I talked a bit to MattyJam, and while its not true I'm a hater (and definitely not a 'well known' one either) I understand this thread have upset people and certain folks don't trust the intentions of this thread anymore. If people thought I put in comments by Gene Simmons just for trolling purposes thats quite understandable. There even seems to be a popular demand I leave the forum, so I think I'll just do that. Don't play 'Gone Too Soon' too many times now.
