One other thing I wanna mention with regard to the "I was the only one defending my uncle in 2019" (or whatever year he said).
My reply is: Really? Really. You're seriously gonna tell a bunch of MJ fans online that you were the ONLY person defending him?
Bro.
I've been defending Michael on EVERYTHING since the cover of Bad was revealed and people started making fun of him for "turning white".

I don't think Taj is a con man, he's just delusional. He's deluding himself on what he's capable of doing. A "director" who's never made a single project. I think it would be hilarious to see how many interviews he has filmed for the documentary so far. I'm sure it's a pathetic number. That's one question I'm sure he would dodge.
At the end of the day, only MJ fanatics give a shit about any of these biased documentaries anyway.

I fail to understand why most people are defending Taj. Fans who donated to his project have every right to be either angry, disillusioned, exasperated he hasn't shown any proof on how the money donated has been used in his documentary unlike Jin.

Honeymoon period is officially over I think Taj has been blocking fans and referring to them as "noise". Even selects a tweet to use which that fan apparently is then bombarded by other fans. You can see quite a number of fans outright saying those criticising are not fans. Of course, abusing people isn't on and the block was invented for that.

So, this PayPal account had $41k in 2019 and God knows what it's at today. Is there actually any indication from Taj himself he knows about this one? Doesn't sit right with me either way. At least people could use Go Fund Me to hold him to account and get their money back. This whole project and its funding has been a mess from the start. It includes apparently putting people on it without their knowledge too. Ridiculous. This was raised to fans close to Taj's project and the answer was that GFM doesn't allow refunds. I'm not sure how true that is. I don't know how GFM operates, but this is what I found: support.gofundme.com/hc/en-us/articles/203604214-Refunding-your-donorsTo be clear: this is not Taj's answer, it's just a fan who is involved somehow in the project, so I'm not sure if this is what Taj is saying or just the fan came up with in his defense.

I understand that it must've been very difficult at the height of LN for Taj to go on these hostile TV shows. And I appreciate him doing it especially when, other than Brandi, other Jackson family members have done much less. But it's not a favor to fans. It's his uncle ffs. A lot of fans have made sacrifices as well to defend MJ. Time, money, work etc. Those websites, YouTube videos, podcasts weren't creating themselves. The tweet he was responding to just said "The only Jackson I care about is MJ." Why is Taj even offended by that?

Of course, GFM allows for donors to be refunded, so that fan was clearly talking crap. Looks to me like she came up with that weak defence. My concern with those PayPal funds is, does Taj know about it? I can't find anything to suggest he does. So my next concern would be, what is the female fan (forgotten her name) doing with the money? It doesn't sit right with me, personally.

At the end of the day, only MJ fanatics give a shit about any of these biased documentaries anyway. Yeah, I don't think he's a con man. I just think he bit off more than what he can chew. It was a big mistake to ask fans for money before he had a clear concept as to what he was going to do and before seeing if he's even able to do it. If he hadn't asked for money this wouldn't happen now, but since he got close to $300k from fans it's understandable that after four years people are going to start asking questions about how that money is being spent. Another issue I have that everything I've seen about this project so far reeks of amateurism. From the title to how things are being run. Like that list of names Taj has put out as the people he's supposedly working with - without even asking those people. (That was the first red flag I saw, but I've seen several more since.) I have donated but I rarely voice my concerns about it publicly because I don't want to sabotage him and I still hope that somehow he proves all the doubters wrong, but deep inside I don't have much hope for this project. It's definitely not going to be the ultimate vindication like so many fans are hoping IMO. Taj was a bit too ambitious to promise them that while he doesn't even have any filmmaking experience. And at this point I'm not even sure this project wouldn't do more harm than good. A rebuttal documentary should have been done within a year of LN. Coming out with one now would only bring back attention to LN that the world has long passed by now. And if it's not an effective, focused, to the point rebuttal (like it seems it won't be, as Taj moved away from that original concept and is now talking about 11 episodes of what seems to me another "Life of an Icon" type of documentary) then it may even give ammunition to Dan Reed to laugh: "Is this your rebuttal? That he kissed Stephanie Mills at 19? That Thriller is the best selling album of all time?" It needs to be really professional, to the point and effective to shut guilters up, otherwise it can even backfire. I really hope he's not going to go in conspiracy theory direction (I've seen seen some comments by him that makes me worried about that) or in a kiss and tell direction (some of the Jacksons seem to think a way to refute the allegations is to prove that MJ was a womanizer). The only romantic type of relationship that should have had a place in this doc was Lisa Marie IMO and that because she was there with him during the 1993 allegations and could have maybe given an insight into MJ's state of mind around that time. Stephanie Mills talking about how they kissed at 19 or that she believes in his innocence, however, is irrelevant. Unfortunately with these delays Taj missed LMP and he missed other people as well. Bert Fields died last year. He was a lawyer involved in the 1993 case and he would have been a low hanging fruit for Taj to interview as Fields represented 3T in that lawsuit they filed against Radar Online a couple of years ago. But now he's dead too. Maybe Taj managed to interview him before he died, but I somehow doubt it. So this is another consequence of his delays. These people who were involved in these cases aren't getting younger, so the longer you wait the less of them remains.

Didn't realise Taj, the person at the helm of a quarter of a million dollars of peoples money to create a documentary based on facts to "re-right history", made a comment connecting vaccines to autism in children in 2020.

We should be so grateful that Taj did many interviews badly prepared that didn't really help much.

Can people contact GFM on their own to ask about the project and the fact it doesn't seem to be happening?

I have seen comments that he was only blocking fans who were rude and disrespectful. Maybe. I didn't see those comments. But I think it's not really time for Taj to be sensitive. It's understandable that after four years of nothing or very little, people are starting to get impatient and maybe a bit less polite. I think actually people have been this patient with him so far, because he's a Jackson. No one else could have got away with this for this long. Blocking them is definitely not a good way of placating them, anyway.

I saw a tweet claiming the MJCast were still actively seeking donations for this, but I certainly don't have the interest to see if that's true. Their attitude towards the Jacksons on that podcast was incredibly bizarre considering how critical they could be of the man himself, but I put this down to trying to stay in the good books of the Jackson family for "authenticity". I agree with your point that this could actually be detrimental to the natural progress of the last few years.
