He should have been a bit more clear on why he was doing this update. I believe he has been getting a lot of questions lately about if he was still going deep into the allegations because in recent interviews it sounded like he was distancing himself from that route to a degree. So with that context in mind, this update is actually somewhat comforting. My biggest concern is if he is putting enough time and effort into it. He's doing those Film Family videos with Bigi and Prince pretty regularly so he's watching a lot of movies. Not to say every second of his life should be devoted to this project, but you definitely have to put a lot of time into it to get it done and make it good. We'll see.

Taj did a 40 min interview on Irish radio last night (fallout from my shared email from RTE...) on Classic Hits Radio
You can listen below. Nothing new really but still a nice interview as Niall Boylan (although an absolute head wreck) plays MJ a lot and never bought into the shit.

Did anyone catch Taj's live stream from the other day? Any updates on this yet?

Did anyone catch Taj's live stream from the other day? Any updates on this yet? With the coronavirus he's had to stop interviewing people for now and is instead focusing on all the other things like narrative, editing etc. It's definitely going to be a multi part series now, not a feature length doc. Those were the main take aways from what I can remember.

I gotta say, I'm really disappointed that it's going to be a multi part series instead of a feature length doc. If the idea is to portray him in a different light and get non-fans on board, how can you seriously expect Joe Public to sign up for an entire series on how great Michael Jackson was? It just won't fly. Really terrible decision, and not what fans were led to believe when they started funding this.

I have no doubt Taj has the best of intentions, but he isn't a filmmaker, no matter how much he pretends to be one.

If it gets enough hype and gets a good platform people will watch it. Especially if it's on Netflix or Hulu or Amazon Prime. The fact that it's multi part allows it to be more thorough and not just "how great MJ was". It can go deeper into the allegations as well as other facets. I also disagree on the last part about what fans were led to believe when they started funding this. As far as I can recall a multi part series was always on the cards from the beginning and was actually preferred by Taj and most fans 🤷♂️

I don't know how this is going to be, but "multi part" is not something to worry about. Almost all hyped Netflix documentaries these days are multi part documentaries, with often 5,6,8 episodes. That in itself is not a bad thing. Hell, Making a Murderer has two seasons (10 episodes / season) and it's about the same case! Actually one feature lenght documentary wouldn't be enough to seriously address these allegations in depth IMO. My fantasy is a 3 or 4 part documentary with 1st part addressing the Chandler/Francia allegations, 2nd the Arvizo trial, 3rd Robson/Safechuck and then 4th perhaps doing some more humanizing of MJ. That's how I imagine it could work.

It wasn't always a multi part series. He only decided that later. I agree if it's done well it'll probably have a big impact but yeah I have my doubts.

I think whatever happens with Corona in 2021, Taj needs to make sure this thing gets done. Another year passing without the documentary will really sour fans to this project.

I have donated three times to this and I am hoping he will come good with it. I don't mind waiting as long as it's worth the wait. If it's just a Jackson-endorsed Square One-quality product, then I will feel a little cheated. I liked Square One and they did a fine job with the limited resources they had available, but I am expecting more from Taj's project and I hope it's not all hot air and he actually delivers something high-quality, which will reach non-fans and have content which is new to the existing fans.
