I was there last night at the Stevie Wonder gig in Hyde Park. That Billie Jean bit was a section mid concert where Stevie got his DJ to play some songs from singers who have died, so he played some Marvin Gaye, MJ, Prince, Bowie, Amy Winehouse. No negative reaction at all to MJ - as you can see from that video! That same DJ was playing tunes for about half an hour before Stevie came on as well, and he played DSTYGE, WBSS and PYT. Crowd sang along to all of them. Lionel Richie was the support act and he sang We Are The World, again everyone sang along. Mute MJ? Not here! |
