SWV WE WON'T CANCEL MICHAEL JACKSON!!! Using Sample on 'Verzuz' The ladies from SWV aren't backing down from playing their famous Michael Jackson sample in an upcoming "Verzuz" matchup ... telling us they wouldn't be there without him. Tamara "Taj" Johnson and Leanne "Lelee" Lyons joined us on "TMZ Live" Thursday and we asked if SWV is going to play their hit, "Right Here (Human Nature Remix)," when the R&B group battles Xscape Saturday on "Verzuz." Some folks have issues with MJ's legacy and using his sample might cause some controversy ... after all, it's happened recently on "Verzuz," when The Isley Brothers sampled R. Kelly. But, SWV says they will NOT cancel the MJ sample ... telling us why the King of Pop's done wonders for their career. It's pretty interesting ... Taj and Lelee say Michael didn't even make them pay to sample his 1983 hit, "Human Nature," and they tell us how the freebie fell in their lap. The way they see it ... Michael's paid the price for his transgressions, and it's not their job to judge him by canceling his music. Check out the full interview with SWV Thursday on "TMZ Live" ... because they also gave us some tea about touring, and bouncing, with Beyonce when Destiny's Child was just coming up. “You will hear it! You might even hear it 3 times for that matter!” “Whatever he went through, I believe he paid the price for it and it is not our place to judge him!” www.tmz.com/2021/05/06/swv-michael-jackson-sample-controversy-right-here-human-nature-remix-verzuz-xscape/www.tmz.com/videos/2021-05-06-050621-swv-1077350/

Why is this even coming up? Right here is one of their famous songs The media can't mention MJ without acting like there's some looming outrage at his music being played. It doesn't exist and is something purely manufactured by them.

On the radio, in grocery stores, in the casino and in restaurants. No one ever says one negative word about it.

Gary, Indiana officially indicate the house where it all started for the Jackson family. On May 13, Mayor Jerome, Tito and Marlon unveiled a new signage that says “Home of the World-Famous Jackson 5, 2300 Jackson Street”. The State will be installing signs on interstate 80/94 and on Broadway to lead tourists to the home. Many people gathered Thursday just outside the wrought iron fence surrounding the Jackson family's home at 2300 Jackson Street in Gary, as local dignitaries joined Marlon and Tito Jackson and state Senator Eddie Melton in unveiling direction signs to the property. Mayor Jerome Prince stated “It’s absolutely a proud moment for the City of Gary” He also asked a 23 second silence in memory of the Jackson family who have passed like Michael and Joe. Events like today, with the new sign leading people to the childhood home of Michael Jackson and the Jackson Five and the grand opening Friday of the new Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana are examples of what it means to reimagine Gary. Tito Jackson emotionally thanks the people of Gary “Without you guys, the Jackson family would not be where it is today,” he said. State Sen. Eddie Melton, D-Gary, said Thursday's event was the culmination of more than a year of work to bring the signs into the city. Travelers will be able to see the sign from Interstate 80/94 and follow the signs indicating the house. Today we are talking about honoring this family,"Melton said. He called the signaling moment, a major move towards the economic development of the city that will be stimulated by the tourism that the casino will create. The timing of the signage will help us,"Melton said. Councilor Linda Barnes-Caldwell said Jackson's home has always been an unofficial landmark in the 5th arrondissement and hopes that the tourism it brings and the grand opening of the Hard Rock Casino will help fuel the development of its neighborhood. I need developers to come into this area. We need people who can take a look and reinvent Gary," Barnes-Caldwell said. Gwen Macon, Theodore McClendon and Kwabena Rasuli were among those present to celebrate the signage. The trio is part of Jackson Family Honor, a non-profit organization whose mission is to make the Jackson family's name known in a historic way for the benefit of the city. We don't just want to honor Michael Jackson and the Jacksons, we want the city to benefit,"Rasuli said. Macon said the group is considering the same type of impact on the community as Elvis Presley's Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee. www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/post-tribune/ct-ptb-jackson-home-signs-st-0514-20210513-c6z3d2ya6fe7vko3ue6dxvuyn4-story.htmlwww.nwitimes.com/news/local/watch-now-tito-and-marlon-jackson-in-gary-for-dedication-of-home-of-the-jackson/article_728769a0-9917-5ad8-90e2-9eb0dd86b5de.html
