Forbes just released a list of most valuable music publishing catalogs in the world.



While it is clear that Michael Jackson should have been on the top of the list, but due to the ATV catalog being sold to Sony in 2018, he gets second place.



Still, Michael gain around 26 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone and his Music Publishing Company MIJAC Music get 2nd place from the valuation of industry experts. MIJAC still own songs from Aretha Franklin and Elvis Presley.



Here the 5 most valuable music publishing catalogs according to experts in the music industry:



John Lennon and Paul McCartney – $500 million


Michael Jackson – $375 million


Richard Rogers and Oscar Hammerstein II – $350 million


Bob Dylan – £325 million


Paul Simon – $250 million

Eleven albums by Deniece Williams will form an 8-CD box set entitled Free – The Columbia / Arc Recordings 1976-1988 which will be released on June 25th by Soul Music Records.

Among these 11 albums is the album As Good As It Gets from 1988 in which Deniece Williams sings We Are Here To Change The World, the song written by Michael Jackson and John Barnes and which appears in the movie Captain Eo.

In 1988, at the time when the internet did not exist, this song was not released under any support and Michael Jackson fans were then happy to discover it, even if it was sung by someone other than Michael. We will find it but this time sung by the King of Pop on The Box Set "The Ultimate Collection" released in 2004.

Haven't had an experience like this in a while but a great one happened today, so I thought I'd share it.

My wife asked me to run to Target to get something for her. I ran to the deprartment, grabbed the thing she needed and turned around to walk to the register when a woman hit me very hard on the arm. I turned around and knew I didn't know her but was happy she was smiling at least lol. She said "IS THAT WHO I THINK IT IS ON YOUR LEG?", referring to either my Prince or Michael tattoo on my left leg. I looked down and saw her HOMEMADE Michael Jackson t-shirt and knew which one she meant lol.

I said "Oh, I'm a big fan and I can see you are too". We talked very briefly about much we love Michael and I went on my way. Very quick, but awesome interaction with a total stranger

The famous group Il Divo, a classical crossover quartet composed of the Spaniard Carlos Marin, the American David Miller, the Swiss Urs Buhler and the Frenchman Sébastien Izambard, will release an album celebrating the motown record company on July 16, 2021.

Entitled For Once In My Life: A Celebration Of Motown,this album will be released in digital version but also in CD version and will contain covers of the best motown songs including the famous I'll Be There of the Jackson 5.

In order to promote this album, the band Il Divo will go on an American tour "For Once In My Life Tour" which will begin on August 12 in San Jose (CA).
