I remember that phase you went through when all you listened to was Sezen Aksu. All Sezen and we'll watch them fall.

Do we have to turn every thread into a discussion about Sezen Aksu? It's MyMJJForum, not MySezenForum. Frankly I’m getting sick and tired of it! There’s more to life than Sezen Aksu! Some people are obsessed!

This is a good introduction to her musical journey. Also anyone who is curious but cant be arsed to spotify her. Here you go Turkish is very peculiar sounding. Quite enjoyed listening to it. Can't comment on the peculiar thing it's my mother tongue so sounds very natural to me. But I know what you mean. I get the same feeling listening to far eastern songs. But most eurasian / mid eastern languages are like porn to my ears. Hebrew, Arabic, Persian. Very pleasant and sensual

In Turkey she's huge, bigger than any of the other artists named here. Very talented singer and songwriter. Masum Değiliz is my favorite Sezen track.

The truth is she is the only artist I know who is almost as prolific as Prince in terms of quantity. But still retained quality control 1976-2002
