Anthony King's latest post:
Yesterday was interesting! If you want to receive a torrent of abuse and insults, then just criticise an obvious inappropriate aspect of Michael Jackson's behaviour!
Certain people will literally defend the indefensible, by means of crazed attacks and threats, with no fear of how they appear to normal people. People have even actively promoted child abuse on my social media pages in the last 24 hours.... literally. Think about that!
However, we are in 2019 now. It doesn't work like that anymore.
My position is that people in the Michael Jackson community should speak up in support of child welfare and victims of abuse, including alleged victims of abuse. I am part of that community and have been for most of my life.
This cause should supercede their idolisation of Michael Jackson.
However, it doesn't and they don't. Almost nobody. You can be a coward by being silent but they go further by endangering the welfare of our children by literally promoting inappropriate behaviour with children and rationalising it and excusing it away.
Always a "but" .... always an equivocation...
In the last 24 hours I have had grown men and woman literally say "Why can't I sleep in a bed with a child?" ... "Tell me exactly what's wrong with sleeping in a bed with a child?". Repeatedly and repeatedly ... publically, with no sense of shame or responsibility.
THAT is also Michael Jackson's legacy. He created that... in addition to helping people around the world. Certain impressionable people mimic him and copy him and emulate him. Michael Jackson should have been more responsible on this very important issue.
He was found not guilty but he should have condemned this kind of behaviour for the sake of children around the world but he didn't, he promoted it. He had such influence... he should have condemned it and he should have been condemned for it and he SHOULD be condemned for it.
Does this mean that Michael was guilty? No. Does this mean that Michael Jackson wasn't a great artist? No. Does this mean that you can't enjoy his art? No. Does this mean that you still can't love him? No. Does this mean that you can't still think that he is innocent? No.
You can still support Michael Jackson and condemn inappropriate behaviour by him. I would say that if you are too cowardly to condemn it... just be quiet.
To be very clear:
- You can support somebody by defending them... you don't have to ATTACK alleged victims. By attacking ANY alleged victim of abuse you undermine the course of child protection and make it hard for the victims of child abuse to come forward and be believed in the future. This mentality is almost impossible to understand by certain people because they only know how to hate and attack as a means of "defence". These people are a major part of the problem.
- Adults with a duty of care. You should have spoken up! Even though you were cowardly then, you should speak up NOW so there is no doubt.
- If you disagree with my post from yesterday, then that is fine. I just ask you to leave me alone and disassociate from me. I don't want anything to do with you. If you were offended or triggered by my post, I really think that you have a major problem but more than that, you are yourself a major problem in society and the reason why child abuse victims are undermined, in my opinion.
- Reasonable Michael Jackson fans - thank you very much for your messages. I am very sorry that you feel that you can't speak publically for fear of attack but speaking up is the only way to rid this world of child abuse. You can still love him and support but when he is wrong, it must be condemned... STRONGLY and UNEQUIVOCALLY! The fact that you are scared is proof of the problem. I am so grateful for the ones that spoke up on this issue without equivocation... it's the final bit which is important... the "without equivocation" part.
- Michael Jackson's defenders have a legitimate right to defend, but not attack, with the exception of possibly his blood family and legal defence in an appropriate legal setting.
- If you disagree with anything I have said, please do not comment, like or anything.... just go away and leave me alone. I screen captured every message of abuse, all the threats and any message with a "but" or an "equivocation" in it. I don't want to hear it. I only want to be associated with people that stand 100% with child abuse victims and against inappropriate behaviour towards children.... the key being WITHOUT a "but" or an "equivocation"... if you can't condemn certain aspects of his behaviour without undermining it by excusing it, then I don't want anything to do with you. You need to be CLEAR with your condemnation of inappropriate behaviour towards children and UNEQUIVOCALLY so! If not, I hope we never cross paths in any way shape or form.
- I continue to work on my Michael Jackson projects until I choose to stop. I continue to publish my books on Michael Jackson work. I hope that only Michael Jackson fans who agree with me, associate with me, and the ones that can't do so have nothing to do with me. If this means that I am alone ... I am TOTALLY COOL WITH THAT. If that means I have a pile of Michael Jackson books as doorstops.... totally cool with that! I only write for the reasonable Michael Jackson fans and normal people. In fact, I actually only write for myself and the historical record at root. If you disagree with even one thing I have said, yesterday or today.... please unfriend me. It's fine to disagree.... just disagree among yourselves and not on my page. You are on the wrong side of probably the most important issue on earth - child welfare.
- To be really really clear, if you can't agree with these words:
"Michael Jackson was wrong to sleep with children in the same bed and that an adult sleeping in the same bed as a child is 100% wrong and I condemn it without equivocation or excuse. This behaviour should never have been endorsed or promoted"
And you can't do so without adding a "but" or a "however" or an "excuse" or by undermining it... then we are not cut from the same cloth and our principles are so different I want nothing to do with you.
I can't be clearer than that ... now give me a "B"... give me an "L".... give me an "O", give me "C", give me a "K".... what do we got?... "BLOCK!"
This is what I posted yesterday which caused the abuse and weirdness ... remember, if you disagree ... we are never going to get on, so best not communicate with me:
"My thoughts on "Leaving Neverland"...
Michael Jackson was probably one of the greatest performers ever and we collectively loved him and in many cases dedicated our lives to his art. However, Michael Jackson's (admitted) behaviour with children was unquestionably inappropriate. Adults sleeping or being in a bed with children is unacceptable. It must be condemned and never portrayed as acceptable and normalised. Children need to be protected from abuse and never be put in ambiguous environments, as our number one priority. The people attacking victims and alleged victims of child abuse are part of the problem. I won't immediately be watching "Leaving Neverland" but people must be allowed to make up their own minds without fear of being attacked.
