How freaking unprofessional for a professional production to pull their stuff from YouTube! If you're wondering why he did that, it's often done to help keep costs down. Generally, you pay twice for footage. Once to actually license it in the first place, and then again for a company who owns a copy of the footage to provide you with a higher quality version. If Reed sources it from YouTube, it won't look as good, but it'll help keep their costs down. HBO might be funding it, but it's also possible they didn't give Reed the biggest budget (didn't he say it was just himself behind the camera on location? and they just hired an AirBnB for the shoots? That's very low budget).
It's pretty lazy and shitty of him to not properly attribute the sources though. Reminds me of when I'd see the bibliography for classmates school projects and they'd credit Google for their information or images 🙄
I don't think LN was a big budget production at all. Reed didn't put much investigative work in it, that's clear, and also from a film making POV it's not much more complex than a YouTube video. He just recorded these people tell their lies basically. I think the PR and marketing surrounding it was very high budget, though. Probably that's what most of the budget went to.

I'm sure he spent dozens of hours scouring MJFacts.

Very tepid reaction by the audience. Not quite the standing ovation they might have anticipated.

I don't think it is likely though.

It would look too witch hunty is they did. Surely they're not that stupid?

I bet Wade can’t take the pressure! Chucky is a nobody so he’s happy to show up and probably heavily sedated. Reed has to save face and you can tell he found it hard to talk and mentioned the backlash. The awkwardness was cringe.

People on twitter are saying that they've heard LN isn't going to feature in the Emmys at all. That would be good.

Very tepid reaction by the audience. Not quite the standing ovation they might have anticipated. 'Unflinching honesty'... Really? 'Honesty' that featured contradicting claims made in court including that their Mother's aren't held responsible in any way for the supposed abuse? Also 'child sexual abuse, a crime that plagues so many millions worldwide'. The same 'crime' he's being going around describing as 'sex' and a 'pleasant' experience and how he found James being cast aside worse than the abuse.
