My Oscar predictions: Best Picture1917 (Though my fave is Joker, but I don't think it has a chance in this category. The academia is a sucker for war dramas, so I think 1917 is going to win.)
Best director
Martin Scorsese (The Irishman)
Best Actor
Joaquin Phoenix (Joker)
Best Actress
Scarlett Johansson (Marriage Story)
Best Supporting Actor
Joe Pesci (The Irishman)
Best Supporting Actress
Laura Dern (Marriage Story. Though I think Scarlett Johansson could win in both this and the leading actress category, but they probably won't give her that.)
Best Foreign Movie
Parasite
Original Screenplay
Once upon a Time in Hollywood
Best Adapted Screenplay
The Irishman (though I'd like Jojo Rabbit to win)

Aww, Brad won as Best Supporting Actor. I wanted Joe Pesci to win, TBH.
Laura Dern will win as Best Supporting Actress.
Even though I want Scarlett to win as Best Actress, Renee will do so for Judy.
Toy Story 4 won as Best Animated Movie but I wanted Klaus or I Lost My Body. I hated TS4, it throws to the trash the perfect and emotional ending TS3 had. Andy reluctantly gave Woody to Bonnie then for her to not to give a crap about Woody for a trashy and uncharismatic fork in the fourth movie.

I liked Toy Story 4 - I actually recall finding it really funny. But it felt more like a prologue to the first three... and also because it has such a huge focus on Woody over the rest of the Toy Story crew, it does feel a bit spin-offy in that regard.
I don't think they should do anymore. Toy Story 4 was completely unnecessary and while I enjoyed it, they're really pushing it now.

I hadn't seen Eminem on TV in years, how weird seeing him with black hair and a full beard. ๐ฎ

Super stoked with Taika winning Best Adapted Screenplay. Seeing all the NZ Media putting him on all the front pages is really cool. Makes it feel like this little country is right behind him and all super stoked for him

Parasite has been the big winner tonight, I didn't expect it'd win Best Director. Sam Mendes or Martin Scorsese were the favorites in different polls.
And as Best Actor, Joaquin will win.

Oh wow, Parasite won Best Picture. I didn't see it coming that they would give it to a foreign movie.
I didn't like it, but I see a lot of people loving that movie.

What did Renee Zellweger do to her face? She barely makes expressions and even in characterization, she looks nothing like Judy Garland. Judy was way prettier.
And as for Best Picture, I thought 1917 would win. My goodness, Jane Fonda is 82 (?) and she looks amazing like she's ok n her late 50s or 60s.

Congratulations to Parasite! I was hoping for JoJo Rabbit, but I'm very biased. It's been really great to see New Zealand's reaction to Taika winning an Oscar - our media here have had his image splattered all over the front pages, congratulating him. Feels like the whole country is behind him in that regard - even the Prime Minister has already commented! We always do that when one of our own wins big internationally - I strongly recall the media celebrating when Lorde won a number of Grammys (including best song) in early 2014! I haven't seen Parasite - will need to - but I wholeheartedly recommend JoJo Rabbit. Watching it, I was gonna give it a good 4/5, but the final, third act raised it to 4.5/5 for me. It has a lot of heart in it
