It's easy to see why media/journalist jobs would attract psychopaths, isn't it? And I definitely think a high portion of the journalists, especially those working for tabloids, are psychopaths. It's pretty scary that a lot of the world's opinion leaders are actual psychopaths. Maybe a part of why the world is so fucked up.

t's good to see people learning something from Caroline Flack's sad death.
We all need to be kinder, more non-judgemental to public figures who face high pressure in front of a world audience etc. But this should go for *everyone* not a select few... There continues to be judgemental/vindictive articles and endless narrow-minded features on various public figures... we need to ensure we aren't participating in the ruin of other's reputations when it's not our place to ever judge. One has to only look at the backlash Johnny Depp faced when accused of domestic abuse, or how people openly judged Michael Jackson as guilty (by court of public opinion), or how Morrissey is a constant source of abuse from certain UK publications etc... that's just 3 figures I can think of at the top of my head.
We either aim to be less judgemental to all, or it's pointless. We need to try - and try hard.

We either aim to be less judgemental to all, or it's pointless. We need to try - and try hard. Wonderful post. And 3 prime examples; MJ, Johnny Depp, Morrissey! I’m very saddened by her death. Like Tony, I very much liked her in an indirect sort of way. There was something very relatable about her and she seemed -for want of a better expression- very normal, down to earth, girl next door, best mate about her. When MJ died the same tabloids that spent decades ruining him sold tribute magazines. The Sun are the absolute scum of the earth. I sometimes feel a publication should be created that digs into the personal lives of these editors and “journalists” and they should be ripped apart in the same way they’ve been doing to others for decades. Two wrongs don’t make a right, but no accountability, the hypocrisy of paying tribute to people that they’ve helped dismantle and ruin, and the sheer arrogance of the way their able to swan around within celebrity culture without any responsibility is unbelievable.

Where was this lecture when TonyR accused me of making up my mothers terminal illness? Or do you just reserve that special treatment for your friends?

Where was this lecture when TonyR accused me of making up my mothers terminal illness? Or do you just reserve that special treatment for your friends? You know full well that Tony only said that after multiple posts from yourself which you admitted were made up for effect. This is not the same thing and you know it. And yes, I will defend my friends and I won't apologise for it. But I am a fair mod and there is no special treatment.

No real idea who she is but its such sad news. So sad that anyone feels so desperate so pushed into a corner. An old work mate even though i didnt know him that much but still a shock killed himself last summer and the same for my bro over xmas. Someone he had worked with very closely and had only spoken to in the days before. It was in the news as he worked in the media and was pretty well known. Seems to be a terrible epodemic on all levels.
Sadley i doubt it will change much. They fake shock and sadness when in reality the scum tabloids are just upset they lost their sales and hits for the up coming trial
Things like this make you realise just how incredibly strong mj was. What these celbs nowadays suffer is nothing compired to what he went through. Not belittling their suffering but how he survived is truely something.
