Yeah, said it before but the fact that Number Ones is the biggest selling MJ compilation makes my toes curl. The last few songs on there are the worst singles of his career & gives ammunition to those who say his career waned towards the end. For a more affordable one that TUC, The Essential is better and fully represents Dangerous & HIStory. Nice cover too. I think YRMW holds its own amongst the rest of the classic hits. Break of Dawn is a strange inclusion, although I remember reading once that it was planned as the follow up single to OMC, which I can very well believe, as MJ seemed to really love that song. OMC is a nice bonus and I'm glad it was included, otherwise the release would've been very boring for the hardcore fans. Plus it's a very good song, just sounds a bit weak on an album with Smooth Criminal, Earth Song, Billie Jean etc. But loads of artists tack on an extra for the fans on these type of releases, and how many of them stand up amongst the artists best work? Apart from Vogue, I can't think of any GH bonus tracks which became bonafide classics in their own right. Justify My Love says hello.

I always hated the cover for Number Ones, and thought it looked really cheap. I much prefer the artwork for The Ultimate Collection, it's a shame Number Ones became the definitive MJ compilation album, with such crappy radio edits and artwork. They should've used a cover like this: Much classier. And take off all the radio edits. Hell, just take off Break of Dawn (which doesn't belong on the album anyway) and then you haven't got to butcher Earth Song, DSTYGE and Thriller. Yeah, said it before but the fact that Number Ones is the biggest selling MJ compilation makes my toes curl. For a more affordable one that TUC, The Essential is better and fully represents Dangerous & HIStory. Nice cover too. One Day In Your Life deserved to be there. Last song should have been Blood on the Dance Floor.

One Day In Your Life deserved to be there. Last song should have been Blood on the Dance Floor. Yeah, plus I can never forgive one song from Dangerous. But it was the only number one? Why bother leave Break of Dawn on there and not Heal the World, which got #2? Thriller and Human Nature werent number ones. We discussed this recently I think
