How come this happened! There's ample evidence that Amber Heard committed domestic violence against Johnny Depp, how come The Sun wasn't slandering him repeating Heard' claims? The ruling is preposterous, I hope the appeal proceeds.

Really a sad verdict for him - all that wasted money just to kick the allegations back into the papers and give your critics a legal victory so they can definitively call you a wife beater. I understand he has another civil case against her in America set for 2021? That won't end well either.

Kinda astounding that he lost this tbh. He has won in public opinion though I think.

The Judge apparently said he believed her because she said something different under oath than on the tape so she must have been telling the truth then? Mind boggling.

I thought this was a defamation lawsuit against the Sun which was only won by the Sun because he couldn't prove malice on the Sun's part. To be honest I didn't follow it but that's usually what lawsuits against the media come down to. So the Judge declaring his belief in Heard's allegations doesn't feel right to me but then again I don't follow this case and don't know British law (it was in front of a British court, right?).
I heard "believe the accuser" mentality is pretty widespread now in British courts, which I'm not sure is a good thing.

Wow, he's been forced to quit the Fantastic Beasts franchise now.
I guess this means his career is over?

Really silly of WB to basically fire him over this when they didn't when it was looking bad for him in the public eye.

I see all JD flicks removed from the US Netflix. Shame. Only last night I watched one of my favourite all time Christmas films- Scissorhands Ed.
