In my opinion 3 stars isn't actually bad. it just an average. this is actually my rating to the show until someone on youtube any other place upload it. my rating may change but as of right now it's 3 stars. Why have a rating if you havenโt even seen it when it comes to designs and what the story etc. it's 3 for me. but if you look at my last comment it may change. right now that's my rating. i'm not reviewer or anything i'm just putting my two cents how i feel about it. that's why the thread needs to be change to just MJ the musical. but the user hasn't done it yet or not interested in anyway.

LOL! so the rumors was true. it's so funny because fans who disagree with this show and the estate was just joking. in my opinion they're not good singers and i honestly was never into musicals soundtracks.
movies soundtracks were awesome back in the day. but i don't even think those exists anymore.

i'm am the only one who feels the estate is outdated? like i understand Michael been gone for 12 years and he is an older artist but they need to be updated. i'm not saying make Michael hip. but for example a soundtrack? in my opinion soundtracks are decades old. seriously who really listen to soundtracks anymore? when i think of soundtracks i think of the 80's,90's, and early 2000's.
they were awesome though.๐๐๐ but this is like 2022 the estate is so far behind and outdated. if Michael was alive we all know he would of been one of the first people to be updated with his own style.

LOL! that's so true. but in my opinion that's no excuse for the MJ estate to be so far behind and outdated. other estates are updated even though the artists are older or gone.
MJ estate is still living in the 90's and early 2000's. ๐๐๐

Every movie has a soundtrack and always will. Many of them even chart. Soundtracks are still as big as they ever were, if not more. A soundtrack/score is a crucial part of any film, and obviously especially a musical. All big musicals get soundtrack releases. Even small ones do. You are letting your premature dislike of the Musical get the better of you, why not join us in other threads where we discuss music/short films, stuff we have actually seen? ๐

Case-in-point: The #1 song in both the USA and UK this week is from a soundtrack - 'We Don't Talk about Bruno' from the film Encanto. It's been #1 in the UK for 3 weeks, and 2 weeks in America.
But yeah, most Broadway musicals do get a soundtrack release. I know my musical loving friends just eat them up.

It's not the reaction to what you've seen on social media, but saying you gave 3 stars to a show you hadn't actually seen ('this is my rating to the show'). You can react to whatever glimpses you've seen on social media, that's cool, not saying you can't, but there's no point bothering with any kind of rating until you give it a fair chance and actually properly see it in action in front of you. It's like rating a film based off a trailer y'know? It might give you an idea of the final product, but you still can't actually rate the film until you watch it.
I remember a decade ago when Immortal first premiered in America, and they had some of the cast on Good Morning America or something doing a dance to Smooth Criminal. Honestly? I wasn't really that impressed. Underwhelmed, even. Couple years later, they finally rock on up to my corner of the world and when I saw it all come together in the actual show, I was just blown away by everything. Likewise with MJ The Musical, you might just find the story plays out better in the theater than in a synopsis you read in an article. Give it a chance

I listen to soundtracks 90% of the time at work and when I go for walks and read. Basically all the time. A good soundtrack that can stand on it's own is as good as any other album.

Funnily enough, I was listening to the expanded soundtrack for The Phantom Menace today while working. Say what you want about the film, but god, John Williams work on that soundtrack is incredible.

I was listening to Revenge of the Sith the other day too. The one thing that was consistent among ALL NINE films was Mr. Williams.

John Williams is a genius when it comes to movie scores and the SW Soundtrack is the best ever movie score IMO. But there's a difference between original soundtracks and recording the music of a jukebox musical where the originals already exist on record. But I see this too is usual on Broadway, so I guess it's okay then. But I'm not really interested in that when I can have the original.

I agree to a point, especially when the lead is... trying to sound like Michael Jackson. At least with Mama Mia it's by different cast members etc.
