These songs can't really be divorced from their respective visual sides.
If songs only, I still pick Thriller which is an all round classic and one that will reverberate down the ages. Temperton was a genius songwriter and absolutely knew Michael's voice perfectly. The bridge part has to be my favourite section.
And the playfulness in Michael's voice in the verses really draws people in. Then there's the way he sings THAT chorus!
Thriller is a perfect pop song that's immortal. Fitting, really.
As much as I enjoy and love Ghosts, especially the beeping rhythm and various sounds, it's quite repetitive and certainly not a classic in the sense Thriller is. The bass ending should have been retained for the album track though. Funkiest ending he had, I think.

In videos, I prefer Thriller. Ghost has a really too personal theme and I didn't appreciate the role of the Maestro. I would have appreciated if it wasn't Michael who played himself as the outcast rejected by others. :/
In terms of music (as I didn't understand - yes I'm stupid - oops), I prefer Thriller MUCH MORE to Ghost...
