Doesn’t look like it’s stirring up hate, but directly discussing issues in this country that need to be confronted head on in a way that may initially offend some

I personally think that people acting outraged and asking others not to talk about this stuff because they don't like hearing about it is very very lame.

Which is ironic and a little hilarious given your stance in the Joe Rogan Vs Neil Young thread. And being that your white and share their empathy is actually the type of white people they can’t stand. I’m not going to feign empathy with a bunch of racists no matter what their colour. I watched the first episode and it was garbage. They don’t even have a diversity of black opinion in this. Where’s the likes of Candace Owens? That said I’m not American, but the woman who claimed that white people marry black people to absolve themselves from racism can fuck right off! My wife is half black, my mother in law is black and my sister in laws are black. My father in law is half English half Scottish and I’m Irish and it’s got nothing to do with any absolution. I love America and have spent a lot of time there, but don’t pretend that this is in anyway decent or the right way to have a conversation. It’s political propaganda BS with a very different kind of agenda.

All of the misinformation the media have spread? It’s the “The people acting outraged and asking others not to talk about this stuff because they don't like hearing about it is very very lame” part of your comment I disagree with. You can’t have it both ways.

You can’t have it both ways. I haven't asked for it both ways. The Joe Rogan thing is not the same as this at all, and I haven't personally told anyone to stop talking about anything, I think Joe's spreading of misinformation is dangerous and can get people killed, yes. The whole "trying to silence" thing doesn't apply to Joe either, as has been seen in that thread. Don't really understand why it's been brought up as like I said it's not the same thing at all. People saying stuff like "Stop talking about race" is not the same as saying outright wrong vaccine information is a bad thing and probably shouldn't be spread around.

And a documentary series positioned in such a way as to troll and position one race against another in such a derogatory way isn’t dangerous and can get people killed? Who’s saying Stop taking about race”? This isn’t talking about race it’s goading a race and it’s laced with extremist leftist propaganda. And talking about race or anything for that matter should be a two way conversation or at the very least contain a modicum of different perspective.

BTW, the woke need to make up their mind if Jesus was white or not. This documentary says he wasn't. But then Whoopi Goldberg says Jews are white people and the Holocaust wasn't racism, it was just white on white crime. So I'm confused as to what is the official stance of wokism on Jews now? /*sarcasm/ Rosanne Barr lost her career, Whoopi was given a 2 week holiday. 😂 Anyways, I have to move on from this because it’s only going to bring out tit for tat pettiness in me and I want to be above this shit. ✌🏻✌🏽✌🏾✌🏿

If black people were to have someone speak for us, we sure as hell wouldn't pick Candace Owens

If black people were to have someone speak for us, we sure as hell wouldn't pick Candace Owens I said “the likes of Candace Owens” there is a difference. As an example of, you know, a different perspective? And there are also many black people who certainly wouldn’t have the likes of those 4 or 5 speaking for “you” that appear in this series either. The sad reality is, is that America will most likely never resolve it’s racial issues because deep down it doesn’t really seem to want to. It seems too convenient. It suits the climate there. Especially when divisive, reductive, politically, agenda driven crap like this is created to deliberately cause hostility. Anyways, I’ll have to really take my leave of this, this time because I simply cannot see how something like this helps bring about positivity or evolution towards change in this world. I’m not even from or in America and it frustrates me so god knows the tension it causes people who actually are Americans.

America and the world will change when we finally have these discussions and put the work in to fully learn from the past and to try to be better. Ignoring things including how crappy things still are only causes more problems. Do I take issue with how some things have been discussed or even the people taking part in them? Yes but discussions need to happen and we have to confront a lot of things. It's a wound that is still infected but hasn't gotten the proper care

Like is this where you guys are as a society? As a people? All I see is something that lacks diplomacy and comes across as juvenile. To treat such a serious issue with such glee is in poor taste, but hey, in my opinion anyway. I watched it, and instead of coming away with a feeling of empathy and compassion and higher understanding and education, I only felt frustration for a wasted opportunity regarding something so important.

Do I take issue with how some things have been discussed or even the people taking part in them? Yes but discussions need to happen and we have to confront a lot of things. It's a wound that is still infected but hasn't gotten the proper care Discussions are okay (and no one said people shouldn't discuss race so that's a strawman), but we aren't talking about discussions, we are talking about a specific documentary that's ridiculous and frankly, from that trailer looks like a hateful and juvenile bashfest. I don't think that heals anything. Racism can't cure racism. And Candice Owens is definitely not the only black person who has a problem with this. I have seen both on Twitter and YouTube a number of black people (both YouTubers and commenters) having a major problem with it and distancing themselves.

It's a wound that is still infected but hasn't gotten the proper care Racism is still very much alive and we've been mostly at the receiving end but do you honestly think that making a documentary blaming Caucasians for all the problems of the world is the answer? It's only gonna lead to outrage on both sides. With each side backing the wrong horse. We both know this. These issues definitely need to be addressed and something, heck many things have to be done about it but this "documentary" ain't it. This is just my opinion, though.

Documentary's like this are just stoking the fires of division even further. And it's very deliberate. It's done for click-bait and publicity. Scapegoating white people will not make them sympathetic to the very real struggles black people live with but I guess the makers of this documentary don't care about that. If they truly cared about the issues POC face, they wouldn't need to go about it in such a crass and attention seeking way.
