I'm watching Triumph Tour (quality is shit as usual). This show looks so great! It could be the best next to Bad Tour! Why, oh why aren't Destiny And Triumph Tour released. What is the specific reason, anyone know? I would imagine a multitude of things. Bad management, some brothers not happy with the estate and wanting a certain amount of money, estate not willing to pay the brothers money, no film footage just a degenerate VHS tape in some wet cardboard box in a cold storage unit, Joe Jackson demanding a million dollars per song, Jermaine wanting brotherly love fee, ex wives wanting alimony! I think it's Yoko's fault. Yeah, anything that ever went wrong in music just blame Yoko Ono!

*throws a tantrum*
It's not acceptable that I can hardly hear his brothers vocals on this shitty footage!
Yoko Ono you destroyed my life!

Throats sore, eyes are watery and head is dizzy. Staring at my phone the past two days probably hasn't helped. Sorry to hear about your sore throat also.
Will watch this Get It Together performance, thanks.

*makes tea* It will pass. Usually men don't die from a cold, even if they feel like they do.
That performance is great! π

Well, that was AWESOME! I think Mike was a better live performer in the 70's and 80's, he was so much more dynamic! Of course he was younger to in better health and not dependant. Why are all the good performances in crap quality?!
I'll tell you why.......
Yoko!

I mean I love nineties MJ and he definitely still had it, but there's something else about him in the seventies and eighties, he was the true definition of a live performer. And he looked healthy (adds quietly: and very good)

Ladies and gentlemen, he's here all night! Give it up once more for the outrageously cheeky, for the always incorrigible, but never offensive, for the always wisecracking but never foul mouthed, you know who he is, yes that lady down there knows who I'm talking about! Yes you dooo! Yes he will! Oh no he can't possibly do that -indescent exposure is sort of a crime actually, thats why- well, one more time, it's TonyR!

How on earth did they get away with 0 songs from Victory album in the Victory setlist? Did I miss something? I know there was a lot of tension between the brothers but what does it have to do with the new songs? Could somebody explain I need to know! π

It wasn't exactly like they were too busy playing Thriller tracks (which is also pretty crazy to me). On the other hand, the album was a pretty lackluster effort overall. A major stepdown from Triumph.

As hard as it must have been for the group, MJ was doing his own thing by that time.

State of Shock with Freddie as a guest on stage would have been the most epic thing ever LOL. I think I might prefer it to the Mick Jagger version

Why are all the good performances in crap quality?! I'll tell you why....... Yoko! Totally agree, he was more spontaneous, more present in the moment, and just more vibrant. I think he peaked in those aspects in 81. He did go on to significantly improve himself as a dancer afterwards and in some respects vocally too. Overall I'd probably say he reached his highest zenith as a live performer during the 87 leg of the Bad Tour (dare I say Yoko-hama?), as I think you recently mentioned too, aazzaabb. We definitely need a Destiny/Triumph live dvd release though. Just look at those snippets in the Off The Wall docu - it'd be something special.
