Oh, that should be interesting! Has Brett every given any interviews before?

Apart from the one in 1993, no. He's talking about that in the preview above.

That's a pretty big deal. Brett... the thorn in the side of MJ guilters. Didn't he spend more alone time with MJ than any other child? If he wasn't molested, nobody was.

I haven't got time to listen to this, but for anyone who did, what did he say?

I haven't got time to listen to this, but for anyone who did, what did he say? Something about MJ liking white women.

It certainly wasn't a cheerful walk down memory lane (heavy questions), but it was important to get Brett on the record denying any wrongdoing on MJ's part. The difference between someone like Brett and WadeChuck are very apparent when listening. Brett is very low-key and not at all entitled. He didn't want any fame, money, or even a job out of knowing Michael. He never wanted anything from MJ other than friendship which is probably why he and MJ always stayed close until the very end unlike some of the other entitled brats.
There could have been a few more moments to ask about happy memories, but that's a very small nitpick. Charles did a great job with the interview.

Brett is very low-key and not at all entitled. When Charles asked him about quotes that were said about him in LN by James, Wade and Joy, hearing those quotes again just struck me again how entitled and possessive these people were. For example when James said how much it hurt him to see Brett around MJ, that now he lost his "partner" (eww, again with the NAMBLA language) and he wasn't "number one" any more for MJ. And Brett couldn't even relate to that kind of thinking, ie. that friendship is about being "number one". Because that's not how he viewed his friendship with MJ. Or friendship in general. That to me told a lot about the differences between people like WadeChuck (LOL, great term) and Brett. Also when in LN Joy was upset about seeing Macaulay around MJ or the fact MJ took Brett on tour and not Wade. WadeChuck clearly wanted to possess MJ and be his "number one" friend and when other people and other kids were around MJ I do believe they were jealous. Not in the sexual/"romantic" (eww) way they are twisting it in the hindsight, but I do believe there was jealousy because they were competitive in "possessing" MJ. They wanted him exclusively to themselves to leech him off with career or financial requests (like they did anyway). Meanwhile Brett (it's obvious from this interview) couldn't even process that kind of thinking of wanting to be his "number one" friend or wanting him all for himself. He said it that friendship doesn't work like that. The Barnes never wanted anything from MJ and were grateful for what they got (going on tour with him or just the friendship). Meanwhile the Safechucks and Robsons always bugged MJ for something (career opportunities, loan for a new house etc). I can see why MJ would liked to hang with the Barnes more after a while and it had nothing to do with age, it had all to do MJ learning about these people after a while. MJ and Brett's friendship lasted until the very end. So much about "dropping kids when they are 14". They last talked only a week before his death. He says he also went to visit him in Bahrain in 2006. At the time Brett had some personal problems and went to MJ to talk to him about his problems as a friend, because MJ could always cheer him up. It was such a nice thing how he talked about MJ having a type of personality that was just so positive and that people just loved being around him. I think this is another reason why some people who couldn't handle friendship to him in a healthy way and got possessive of him and when he distanced himself some of them became vindictive, because clearly they experienced his withdrawal from them as losing something big and some egos just couldn't handle this in a healthy way.

This was very well written and insightful. I agree wholeheartedly with your last paragraph so, so much. Sincerely excellent post respect77 On another note, I think you truly have Wadechuck's (warped) mindset or psychological patterns down perfectly. Can't add much more because you've worded it all in a far better way than my blatherings attempting to have accomplished.

Finally listened to this today. Great interview and I'm glad it's out there for people to listen to. Brett seems like a cool guy and it really goes to show how messed up and entitled Robson and Safechuck were.
