Unlikely New Zealand will, heard nothing about it. Will buy the DVd if it drops. Enjoy it though, everyone who is seeing it! Watch TV2 tonight at... 7.30pm? I think. Sometime around there.

I'm going to let Luke Skywalker sum this up in one sentence: Hooooollllly SHIT that was TERRIBLE. The whole film and it's pacing was all over the place, the characters were poorly developed with some of the most horrendous dialogue I've heard for some time... and excluding Jim Parsons, who was good and felt genuine, the voice acting was average at best. The animation was utterly abysmal, even for a TV film. Quite literally the rabbit in Speed Demon, which was HAND ANIMATED and didn't have the benefit of motion capture, danced better than the characters in this film. They could barely even get the music right! The music was often ill-fitting of the scene (even the if 'mood' worked, the speed of the piece often conflicted with the pacing of the scene), it was appallingly edited with it coming in and out at random points. I'll give it credit for the original mash-ups that we briefly heard. They were cool and it would've been nice to see them on the Scream album, maybe on Disc 2. I know this sounds harsh but it really isn't that good. This is an utter embarrassment to the Michael Jackson brand. It was a good thing they released this the same day as Stranger Things. This isn't something you want people to see. Realistically a 4 year old will probably enjoy it, then come back to watch it in a few years time and wonder what they even saw in it. It's not going to go on as a classic that families will enjoy for generations to come.

The music was so cut and paste, it was all over the place. It was seriously rushed. I think had they waited a while and actually thought out the story a bit more, it could have worked for adults too. Captain Eo is a kids movie and that hit the mark better than this. I did love a few nods in it though. When the chimp gave his name, I made a noise. It was just such a weird cartoon thing though. I cared for none of the characters coming out of it, even the dog which is unlike me.

Production-wise I don't see why they'd have to rush something like this, it's not like they announced it a while ago and had to meet this deadline or that it HAD to be out by this date of this year. Pacing wise it was very rushed. It's just everywhere. It sucks because I genuinely do like the idea - I've seen it with The Beatles before (although that is a fully fleshed out Netflix show) and that could great reviews, so I think it would work with MJ too - but this was just ... executed so poorly? And it's not like I went in expecting it to be Pixar level, I knew it was just another TV movie and I had seen some of the previews after all. As for the chimp, I knew the chimp would be called Bubbles, there was no way it wouldn't be (and to be honest, I saw the nametag before he pointed it out ). Honestly I found him overly creepy? Then again he was pulling creepy faces at times.

Watched this on a flight from LA to Nashville last night and thought it was terrible. I was so bummed through the whole thing. Don't really have anything new to add but I echo a lot of thoughts in the thread; music was terribly cut & pasted, way out of place and forced. I didn't care at all about the characters or the story in general because I had no reason to. Michael's actual involvement was really poorly done IMO. I wasn't terribly excited about this before hand but was hoping to be pleasantly surprised. Unfortunately, it was way worse than I expected even with low expectations

I will have to see this for myself, I see so conflicting opinions about it. I have seen much more positive ones on Twitter than the ones here. In any case, ratings were good, apparently.

I don't care what none of you say, I liked it - great animation and story. Okay it was a bit cutesy and cheesy but it was aimed at kids. I found it enterytaining and it nearly made me cry. Singing along with the songs and cute characterisations.
I would not say its Ducktales or Family Guy, but I would give this an 8/10 easily.

HIStoric I see you're causing all sorts of consternation with your posts. Stop having an opinion!!!! Haha HAHA who knew someone could have such thin skin they get so offended by some random stranger's opinion of a TV film on the internet? There are certainly worse things... like the film itself. Haha but yeah. I don't take back any of what I say even if it does sound harsh. It honestly was just utterly terrible in almost every aspect and it's a shame really. I liked the idea, it was just so poorly executed. Like let's be real. Would anyone really watch this if it didn't have Michael Jackson's name and music in it? No! Now of course Michael Jackson is going to be a main attraction of this film, as with any 'musician' film and that's a totally fair reason to watch and enjoy the film... except MJ's barely in 1/10th of the film (I counted) and he has essentially no character. He's almost entirely mute and we see almost nothing outside of him dancing. So he's not even a main character in his own film. If you take away MJ's music, does it still tell a good story? Do you genuinely care about the characters? No you don't! The only reason this film will get attraction is because Michael Jackson's name on it, not because it because of it's story or it's main characters - of which Michael Jackson isn't even one of them.

Where can you see it in U.K? Is it in that internet thing I keep hearing about? It will probably be on there somewhere yes. I recommend Google.com as your starting point.
