Surely he put such emotions and great harmonies into so many of his other works?

He not only did good harmonies, but he went outside his comfort zone genre wise. With who is it touching on opera and classical, give in to me dabbling with nu metal, even more rock sounding than Beat It, and will you be there dabbling with classical, gospel and spoken word. Billie Jean, beat it and thriller are the ones most consider his best, and although they are great and timeless, they fit a certain mold to fit with the album, rather than taking risks by incorporating other genres

My favourite trilogy is Scream, TDCAU, Stranger In Moscow. I just think they’re straight to the point, raw, angry, real and soul baringly honest, and to open an album with those 3 back to back was astonishing. Perhaps musically they’re more simplistic than WII, GITM, WYBT but I feel they’re a real statement of intent, and they clock in at around 5 minutes shorter that the Dangerous trio which is one of the things that slightly tires me out when I listen to those Dangerous tracks. Incredible, beautiful music but I have to be really feeling it to sit through them all. But sure they’re good to great. Separately, pound for pound I find the HIStory tracks better, Childhood, Earth Song, Tabloid Junkie, Little Susie, HIStory. Perhaps next week I’ll slightly prefer Dangerous. Who knows 😎🤷🏻♂️

I would even say mj pushed further musical boundaries on HIStory following Dangerous. The inclusion of jam & Lewis really added something special to his catalogue

T.O.N.Y. The Other Night, Y? I think Tony needs to take a break from MJ because clearly he doesn’t have a clue what he’s saying anymore. ‘Oh look at me, I’m TonyR…..please don’t dare say anything bad ever about my precious 3 on Dangerous yada yada yada’ 🤦🏻♂️😂😆 Knobber.

I remember it used to be one of my favourite songs back in the day when I first explored the album aged eight in 1994. I wasn't really aware of single releases, chart positions, other fans' or people's opinions. Although my preferences varied and shifted since then, I think it's still in my top half of the album along with Give In To Me, Who Is It, Will You Be There, Dangerous, In The Closet, and Gone Too Soon.
