I know there are also some live routines but I've listed mainly choreographies from Music Videos.

Just to be clear: so we are talking strictly about the choreographies in the videos, right? So, for example, Billie Jean means the choreo in the video, not the stage choreo?
And OMG, 3 is way too few to choose. LOL.

I assume the OP meant stage performances and videos, because Dangerous is included and that doesn't have a video.
For me, in terms of group choreography, Smooth Criminal, 2 Bad and Dangerous take some beating.
In terms of solo dancing, I would've been more than happy if MJ performed a 30 minute version of Billie Jean each night on tour. I could watch that performance forever.

Am I the only one who loves the Thriller routine (music video) but doesn't really like it when performed live? I know it's iconic but i wish he would have done RTT or 2Bad instead. (Or a new routine for Threatened if Invincible Tour had happened).
..... and a dance routine for Heartbreaker would have been epic.

Even with the stage routin the iconic Billie Jean did not make in my Top 3 - that's how strong MJ's legacy is in dancing (as well).
My Top 3 are:
1. 2 Bad 2. Beat It 3. Smooth Criminal

Focusing mainly on the videos, I picked Bad and Smooth Criminal.
I don't really like the group choreography in Bad that much, but MJ's moves after the bridge might be my favorite. I also liked the way he would move to this live - felt very spontaneous and just looked very cool (see Yokohama). Smooth Criminal is just perfection all-around.
My third pick in terms of video dance routines would have gone to Black or White. I think the way in which MJ combines his signature style with the different cultural dance moves is very cool and it fits the song perfectly.

'Billie Jean' is my favourite because it's *not* a routine, ha! Though the stage performance is structured to a degree... I like it best when Michael is alone, un-choreographed, and in the moment. This is when he shines the most to me 'Beat It' is when the 'corkscrew' kick really became noticeable. Michael stands out - especially when they all swing their arms upwards. It looks like his feet are glued to the floor! Though I have to say that the other dancers (other than Michael Peters and Vince Patterson, the lead gang members) kind of ruin it for me.. My attention is always on Michael anyway! Still haven't voted, ha!

I agree with you about Thriller, I do prefer it in the video and not so much on stage. My favorite is the Smooth criminal routine in the video, and Billie Jean live is awesome too!

1. Smooth Criminal - Is this even a question, that video is just mind blowing, and the lean 2. Beat It - This slickly choreographed masterpiece is what really hooked me into Michael Jackson in the first place 3. The Way you make me feel - Very under rated, but you have all his dancing up to Bad (Sans a moonwalk), and he is really pirsuing that girl. I love the part at the start where he yells and then says "You knock me off a my feet" and the fact his voice is as perfect as the dancing. Tatianas's dancing is pretty slick too, this is just great, a great song, dance and a story.

The Ghosts choreography is without a doubt the most spectacular, intricate and challeging routine Michael ever created beating Thriller or any previous one by a landslide. How I wish Michael had performed it live but since it was challenging, I bet it'd have taken a toll on Michael. My second favorite is Smooth Criminal, absolutely iconic!

The Dangerous performance evolved quite a bit from 93 to 99. Love every version including 95. Smooth Criminal for the greatest video of all time. and I also voted for Remember The Time. I think he would have done on the 93 third leg of the tour if things didn't go pear shaped.

Will You Be There gets a vote.
I remember seeing this live on MTV10
It's like someone fed the song into a super computer and it created a visual accompaniment.
It's perfect.
