Tea with a Dame, also known as Nothing Like a damn - loved it and worth seeing but not for the types who are into the Hollywood large monster/Superhero type movies. This is a feature for those of us with triple digit IQs.

The Dorothy Dandrige biopic from 1999, with Halle Berry. I saw it on Youtube, I can't believe they drained that pool, because she dipped her toe in it. I mean were people really that damn racist?

I watched The Mask (seen it before), last night, went to bed right after and I had a nightmare about it. I watch horror movies all the time, and I never have nightmares about them. The Mask is not a horror movie

The Mask is not a horror movie Can definitely understand how the mask would seep into your imagination while sleeping. Dreams can be weird and The Mask is pretty weird in a great way.

I went to see Oppenheimer yesterday. It was good but didn't live up to the hype for me. To me the political courtroom drama about whether he was a communist or whether he was loyal to the US or passed secrets to the Soviets was disproportionately overemphasized and dragged out. I felt the movie would have been more interesting with a different emphasis, namely the difference of opinion and attitude between Oppenheimer and Leó Szilárd regarding the dropping of the bomb on Japan. There was a glimpse of that. It did show the petition organized by Szilárd and signed by several hundred scientists in which he attempts to stop it. But Szilárd still only got about 3 minutes of screentime in the whole movie and most of the focus was on the drama around Oppenheimer's supposed leftist leanings and the mccarthyism of the 50s that made him a victim, and I found that a lot less interesting than the different attitudes among the scientists regarding the bomb. The differences with Szilárd should have been the main conflict of the story IMO. To me that would have been more interesting than this McCarthy-era courtroom drama. Cilian Murphy was great though. I can see him winning an Oscar for this.
ETA: re Szilárd's petition this is a great thread:
