One thing I find irritating is when generic commercials use popular music in their ads. I was watching The Queen's Gambit on Netflix the other day (fantastic series, highly recommend) and there's a scene where Shocking Blue's song 'Venus' plays. Great 60s jam, but when I was growing up I remember the song (or a cover of it) was used in some boringly generic woman's skincare lotion commercial, so now whenever I hear the chorus "I'm your venus, I'm your fire" it's hard to not think of that stupid commercial. And I know that's the advertisers every intent, but bloody hell if it isn't irritating. It takes away from the song honestly.
Far from the only song that's been affected for me too. The exception really is if the ad is actually cool, like that Cadbury ad with the gorilla playing the drums to Phil Collin's 'In The Air Tonight', which was pretty sick so that's not ruined for me.
I reckon Mike was smart to not use the original Billie Jean, Bad etc in his Pepsi commercials but to change up the lyrics and have them fun/awesome to watch. It helped separate them from the original songs, and even if you did associate them, least it was something cool.

Really wish they'd try to improve John's vocals on FAAB. I think they remixed it recently but I still think it could sound a lot better especially with current technology. The Real Love remix made his vocals sound a lot more full and less lq.

It was just one of those days where one bad thing after another kept happening and I just couldn't deal... most of it is resolved now but one thing isn't. It's not really a BAD thing but it was a thing I didn't intend to happen, and I didn't want it to happen, but because I wasn't thinking straight about stuff it happened. Rebbie had/has better singing voice than Janet but Jan had the constance, resilience and determination to make it big in the 80s and 90s, I'll give her that. Not sure she has those things to keep thriving right now, Michael has suffered the worst character assassination an artist can go through and his legacy is still so strong.
