I'm off to see Morrissey this July. I can't wait. I've been a fan of his for many years and think very highly of him. I've seen him before, a few times, but this show should be extra special as I have amazing seats in the venue. So...any of your artists touring this year? Who, where and when? I'll likely post a gig review after the show

Stone Sour (May 15)
Halestorm (May 16, July 27)
Seether (Aug 9)
Avenged Sevenfold (August 11)
Also thinking of going to see Elton John when he tours near me in October.

Blimey Ghost. That's quite a long list. And I mean it with kindness but had to laugh when I saw Elton listed alongside Halestorm and Seether.

I wish, still paying out for the 2 Prince shows I saw back in 2016.
The problem with New Zealand, is we get few big name acts, and when they do the ticket costs are abhorrent with a raft of silly fees and add ons. Most of the acts are washed up has beens like the Hollies and the Moody Blues, or stupid kiddie pop and hip hop/chart skanks.

I see people online complain about it all the time.
NZ definitely get heaps of big international acts though, just go look at all the names on this list for Auckland's Spark Arena alone. Whether they go to the rest of the country or not though is another question.

Just back from seeing Nine Inch Nails in London and Paris, and Jack White in London.
Nine Inch Nails are far and above the best band I have ever seen in my life. It's been years since I've been to a gig that was "heavy", but Jesus, MJ in 97 aside, this was the best concert I've been to (Royal Albert Hall). The energy, the lighting. No images or screens, just senstational use of lights, torches and smoke. It was terrifying and creepy at times. Paris was an amazing gig, and but the RAH gig just nailed the setlist for me. ANY band that comes out to "The Fireman" from Twin Peaks by Angelo Badalamenti is already after winning me over. French crowd were odd and very standoffish I found. Not very pleasant. Everyone in London was just up for it.
Jack was amazing as always. I was very disappointed with the Hammersmith Apollo. Sound was not great. For such an historic venue I expected pristine acoustics.
Battered after the week. The 2 NIN gigs really did absolutely smash me. But in the best fucking way.

Haven't heard their new EP/album thingy... is it out yet?

A bloody brilliant finish to the trilogy. Reznor is one of the good guys. he really does try to do different things. Bowie influences all o' da place.

I find it hard to keep up with online releases.... what have I missed?

Oh, since Hesitation Marks, there's been 3 EP's (but the new one is actually an LP). SO you got Not The Actual Events, Add Violence and now Bad Witch. Essentially they all make up one piece of work. They're all connected in various ways. Imagine David Lynch directing a Nine Inch Nails album. Lots of dreams, questioning reality, simulation and just how fucked up the world is in general. It's brilliant
