It has been up to the Estate to show the expert report they supposedly did. Instead they haven't even named the expert. Did they really do anything at all? I know how court cases work. Usually both sides can have an expert in their corner. I suppose if it goes to Court Cascio too will have his expert saying it's MJ. But I think at the very least this proves that it's not some "tin foil hat" level conspiracy theory by fans like Roger Friedman (buddy of the Cascios) dismissively tweeted the other day. No big name expert will give his name to a "tin foil hat" theory. Someone on another forum bought up to me that sony may not even help the Cascio's. They may not give them any reports they did and leave them to fend for themselves. Makes sense. If the Judge rules Sony out as a potential offender in this situation, why would they throw a dog to the bone that got them there in the first place?

I doubt they will get any help from The Estate or Sony. They've already been excused from this case so the Cascio's will need to deal with this themselves. They'll probably just pay someone to do a report and conclude it's MJ tbh.

I honestly believe the Estate got totally duped. The Cassio family and Michael go way back. And who said Weizman's report was fraudulent. He got Greg, Matt, and Bruce to listen and they said they thought it was him. I take their word over anybody. I'm just irritated they went with this anti-slapp thing. Personally, I think they should sue the Cascios themselves. That way they could save face with the fans and remove the songs. There were six producers and it's not true they all agreed it was MJ. Cory Rooney even said it publicly that Weitzman's statement was false. Taryll said that too. Thanks for that info and all the other info after that, everybody else. That had bothered me about the report-especially since Bruce was on it. I only listened to the online stream of 'Breaking News' before the album came out-and like I've said before, I couldn't tell if it was fake or not because it was so overly processed and cut and pasted, that I could hardly listen to it. I think it was the "it's the wrong mix" line followed by all the excuses-"the hard drive crashed" and "we deleted all the other takes" that convinced me it was all fake stuff. I didn't have to listen to the album. Just glad somebody took legal action, so all the guessing can be put to rest. And also, I'm very disappointed in the Cascios-since Michael loved them like family for YEARS.

Great news: the Cascio case against Sony and the Estate gets another chance at the Supreme Court! www.damienshields.com/supreme-court-to-hear-fake-mj-songs-case/"Today, the seven Justices of the Court who reviewed Serova’s petition ruled that the Supreme Court should hear the case. The Justices felt the Court of Appeal’s ruling that corporations should be allowed to advertise and sell fake art as authentic was problematic in the eyes of the law." I am on my phone now, but in the article you can see additional info about how Vera Serova has direct evidence right from Jason Malachi's lawyer that it's Malachi on the songs!

When I originally heard a fan was starting a case, i assumed it would be as successful as that kid who tried to take Suicide Squad to court for being misleading. Here's hoping it all finally comes out in the wash and those responsible are publicly shamed. Teddy Riley.... i still cant believe it.

They used tons of obviously ridiculous excuses, this just being one of them. Remember that they also tried to blame it on 'processing' - even though anyone who has ever worked with Melodyne can tell you that it does not change your voice to sound like an entirely different person who even speaks in a different dialect. Remember that guy NathanJay who edited together an MJ vocal track using old samples for a song he'd made himself? That's extreme processing and the vocal is full of nasty artefacts, yet the voice still sounds like Michael's. The most ridiculous one I heard was from Frank Cascio when a number of French fans raised the issue with him during a Q&A for his book tour. Stumbling over his words, he settled on the bizarre explanation that the version of Breaking News that was streamed online ahead of the album's release was "the wrong mix" - even though it was obviously identical to the album version. Don't forget the "MJ sang in a PVC pipe" excuse. LOL. I remember them trying to use that "PVC pipe" explanation as if to make out MJ was being all sorts of experimental in their home. What an insult to the fans. They really thought we were that dumb and naive. I hope their made fully accountable and made to explain the situation. They should be made to go back on Oprah with the real story!

Respect, does your website cover this? May I have a link to your website please? No, my website only covers the allegations. About this case you can read on Damien Shields' blog. The Twitter link I gave is Morinen's (Vera Serova). She is the Plaintiff. She is also a member here.

The Twitter link I gave is Morinen's (Vera Serova). She is the Plaintiff. She is also a member here. Didn't realise that the plaintiff was Morinen. Well I did but it didn't really dawn on me. I've sort of kept up to speed on and off via Charles on the MJ Cast which I've not listened to in 6 months and occasionally Damian. I leave it for months because I become a little exhausted by MJ and court cases. But the unequivocal truth needs to come out here and people need to be held accountable. It is still unbelievable to me that those 3 tracks are still on the Michael cd and being sold via the official website. What an insult to Michael and his fans. To Morinen, thank you for doing this. Thank you for fighting for MJ and not allowing these leaches to revise history. Fan's have known the truth from the moment we heard the first words of Breaking News. Soon hopefully everyone will know.

Wait, so the Supreme Court of the United States is going to be tackling this case? That’s insane!! According to this link: civilrights.org/judiciary/federal-court-system/u-s-supreme-court/ they get ~7000 hearing requests a year but only pick 130 overall. For the highest court in the United States to pick this case from literally thousands and thousands is a big deal!

So does this mean it's actually going ahead, or does it just mean they'll decide whether or not it does again?
