Sony wins Fake Michael Jackson Recording Claims for Second Time
Basically a license for companies to deceive consumers and then hide behind "free speech".

So he basically claimed he was involved inorder to get some money from any settlement! thats how it reads to me. Btw i dont care either way so have no side on this. Just an odd thing to say!

Really don't care about this. Bigger fish to fry and all that. So because Leaving Neverland is a bigger threat to MJ's reputation, we should just forget about fraudulent tracks that are still being sold for profit? Fair enough if you're personally not interested in it, but I see so many fans online seemingly dismiss this entire issue using that argument. Why can't we care about multiple things at once? I'm grateful that Vera continues to fight this case. One of the biggest instances of consumer fraud in music history should never be brushed aside because there are bigger fish to fry. So he basically claimed he was involved inorder to get some money from any settlement! thats how it reads to me. Btw i dont care either way so have no side on this. Just an odd thing to say! He is not just claiming he was involved, he WAS involved. And he'd probably prefer to reach a settlement, rather than face the risk of being deposed if the case ever goes to trial. Btw, Jamon mentioned on a recent MJCast episode that Jason had DM'ed him and said he wanted to give an interview. I don't trust Malachi in any way, but let's hope he's being truthful for once.

To me it is actually shocking when fans suggest this case is somehow unimportant. How is it not important whether MJ's legacy is being corrupted with fake songs and his own Estate let it happen?

I think it's more of an exhaustion thing at this point - the Cascio tracks divided the fandom for several years and I don't think I'm alone in having an utter lack of interest in the issue 10 years on. The Estate's incompetence has been well documented and it's not surprising bad actors like the Cascios were able to exploit that early on. Vera's lawsuit unfortunately doesn't and never has had a chance since multinational corporations like Sony always have the upper hand in any civil litigation involving a regular person without teams of corporate lawyers. I think it's to be admired that she actually stood up and brought it nonetheless.

I'd respect the hellout of the 2 Johns a bit of they just said "Look, we f*cked up royally here. We apologise, time to move on", I'd be happy. A simple apology and Jacksons Box Sets, I'd be happy. Blu Ray. 76-84. All tours. Just say "oops" and "sorry". And released the sets. That's all it would take for me.

I really hope they don't get dismissed from this case, they need to be held accountable.
