I listen to this interesting podcast about pop music/pop stars called Pop Pantheon. The host is pretty knowledgeable and insightful and iāve been waiting for him to do an ep on MJ. The podcast just dropped 2 episodes on him (2 out of a 4-part series), one on his early career w/ J5 and the other about the start of his solo endeavors and Off the Wall. I have only listened to the second ep about OTW because Joseph Vogel (author of Man in the Music) was the ep guest. That ep was really good and I definitely recommend checking it out. P.Sā The host and guests are treading lightly around the allegations, which is to be expected. Taking them seriously, but not getting into the nitty gritty, only vaguely alluding to them here and there. Like I said, I havenāt heard the first ep yet, but so far itās kinda neutral on the topic but I expect them to get into the subject more in the later episodes so weāll see how thatās handledā¦ anyways, I recommend giving it a listen! At least the host is trying to remain neutral and uses the word āallegedā when speaking about the allegations. Iāll continue on because I enjoyed the 2nd ep, but now iām bummed out because she will probably frame everything from a perverted heinous lens.

I finished the first ep and besides the rocky start and a few eye roll inducing statements throughout, it was still pretty good. They both have a ton of music history knowledge and interesting insights so I would still very much recommend this podcast. Just be warned it starts off on the wrong foot in regard to the allegations, but itās not like MJ fans arenāt used to the bs at this point. Still a good listen overall.

I had seen that podcast had done an episode comparing MJ and Kanye with a "Could you seperate art from an artist" discussion that so many other podcasts like to do but when Vogel posted about his appearances, I bookmarked it
I was somewhat interested but honestly, knowing the guest host's stance REALLY taints it because it often comes with them framing things in that light. Kills the enjoyment for me at times. Is she on the second episode?

This trailer for Deadpool and Wolverine uses a remixed version of They Don't Care About Us: Is that real? If so, the importance of it is massive.

According to someone on MJJC and upon further research of the channel it appears that this is unfortunately fake. Sorry guys. >.< Usually I'm better about this stuff but I guess I just slipped up yesterday... It's still kinda cool though so I'll leave it up.

To be fair, so does Like A Prayer but this would have been a cool alternative.

Iāve just picked up Vogelās āMan In The Music: Vintage Editionā. Has anyone read this 2nd Edition? Despite some issues in the 1st Edition, I quite enjoyed it, but I like what heās set out to do in this Vintage Edition, making it solely about the 7 adult solo albums. Yes, Blood On The Dance Floor also.

Kills the enjoyment for me at times. Is she on the second episode? No, she is only on the first episode. They donāt really touch on the allegations past the 20 min mark and the host makes sure to use the word āallegedā when mentioning the controversy. I was so close to shutting it off too when she mentioned she thinks heās guilty and they briefly get into the āseparate art from artistā debate, but the conversation moves quickly to the music and she surprisingly was a good guest when it came to her music history knowledge so it was a good listen overall, if you can get past her initial ignorance. The host has a more neutral stance, but I wouldnāt say he thinks MJ is innocent, I think he is just treading lightly. Idk. Itās always tough listening/watching MJ related things by non MJ fans or casual fans because I am just waiting and expect someone to say something ignorant. But iām trying not to let an ignorant comment or opinion cloud other opinions they might have. Itās v tough though.
