1987 was a stellar year for Popular music in my opinion and both Michael Jackson and Prince released albums considered their best that year. But many other acts also served up some musical gold that year. Who takes the cake in your opinion?
I have tried to cover as many legendary albums as possible, but if I have left your favourite out, please add it. (PS Bon Jovi's, Slippery when wet was 1986, so was Control and True Blue sorry)
You can choose up to 8.

I chose for my 8 in this order
1. Sign o the Times - Its a masterpiece period and great anyway you put this 2. Bad - A superbly catchy and danceable album. Michael's voice and sound were on point, plus the songs were well written and very catchy. 3. Introducing the hardline - This is great - amazing singing and very high quality songs, so much promise. 4. Faith - Just great, catchy pop, great voice and so much talent. 5 - 8 Tango in the Night, Uplift Mofo, Appetite and Joshua tree, all meticulous rock music.

Appetite For Destruction and Bad are my favourite albums on that list.
This may seem like a sacrilegious thing to say for a Prince fan, but SOTT was never a big favourite of mine.

I liked the Motley Crue album and the Aerosmith album from that year.
And of course, George Michael's Faith was a masterpiece, along with Prince's SOTT and MJ's Bad.
What a great year for music 1987 was.

What a beautiful year for music! 87 is one of my all time favourite years in music.
Bad is my absolute favourite from that year and like many on here I wore the cassette out.
Appetite For Destruction would possibly be my next favourite from the list in terms of durability or longevity. It's a masterpiece with the classic band line-up and it was before they became rich so theres a raw rock n roll hunger to it and it's killer after killer track.
George Michael's Faith is another masterpiece and one I got into years later.
I gave Sign O The Times a vote also but like Matty it's not one of my favourites from Prince. I never really liked it as an overall album and actually prefer the live versions from the Sign concert film. Don't get me wrong, there's a few masterpiece tracks on it such as Adore, If I Was Your Girlfriend and Housequake but I don't think it's as consistently brilliant as Bad or Appetite.
