My mother just told me she is so proud of me for standing up for MJ. (She is not a fan.) That's really lovely. I also share her sentiments.

Katelyn did it again! It's the same floor routine but different day. Thanks for sharing. I'm grinning stupidly while watching her! <3

I inherited my strong sense of justice from her, I think.

How is everyone feeling at the minute about LN? This kind of feels like the calm before the storm right now and I'm enjoying the peace while I still can, because I think March is going to be a difficult month for MJ fans. I just keep holding out that the estate have something up their sleeves.
I've grown really weary of attitudes on social media. I don't know if anyone else has been following the whole Ryan Adams debacle on Twitter, but it's shocking to me to see the vitriol and venom directed towards someone based purely on unproven accusations in a newspaper. I tried pointing out to an ex-fan who said they were disgusted with him and were going to throw his music in the garbage that a newspaper article is not robust evidence and that she should reserve judgement until such a time as it's proven in a court of law etc. Then I got accused of being a Trump supporter and a misogynistic woman hater. I don't know why I bother engaging, but sometimes you just want to highlight to the sheep on Twitter how they come across as pitchfork-wielding neanderthals.
I don't think I'm going to have the strength to engage on social media when LN airs.

Not in a great place generally which is very unusual for me so trying to stay away.

I say it all the time. My inbox is always open for absolutely anyone on this board, every single member any time they either want to vent, someone to talk to or to just write words to feel they are going somewhere.
We are a fragile species, so let's look after ourselves.
I am feeling very positive becase I have come to terms that there is a shitstorm coming. What I also truly believe, is that common sense will prevail at some point.
There's too many concrete reasons for this to ultimately fail in what it's trying to do.
Nige.

I think when this things airs, everyone on Earth will decide that they're an expert on all things MJ and just immediately pass judgement on him. I said this before recently, but I plant to cut way back on social media started on the weekend it airs. I just don't have it in me to battle with everyone about this.

I don't think I'm going to have the strength to engage on social media when LN airs. I am worried and anxious about it. I get given shit on here for expressing doubts, but I only do so here because the only other place to discuss this would be somewhere like MaxJax or worse, MJFacts, and I don't really want to discuss it with haters. I am grateful that members here are patient with me and I hope you don't judge me too harshly. I just want to get to the truth. I think ultimately what has thrown me about LN is how Wade and James have stepped out of the shadows. To me, it seemed very easy to make a lurid allegation and then hide behind a lawsuit. I guess I'm surprised that Wade and James would make such a bold move, in taking part in such a lengthly documentary and talking so graphically about their allegations on camera. A part of me is worried that the very fact they are doing this film, and opening themselves up to scrutiny for the whole world to see, is a mark of honesty. I know if I had lied about something like this, I wouldn't want to go on camera for the entire world to possibly see through my lies. There is no denying that it is a very brazen move if we are to believe they're lying. They're not going on camera and lying about just anything. They are lying about something that is shockingly intimate and personal, and people will expect to see genuine emotions and grief from them. From what we know of the reviews, James is seen physically shaking at one point and Wade sounds tearful. I know this doesn't prove anything, but I guess I am worried they will display emotions that come across as genuine. Of course, they would've had plenty of time to prepare their stories and think about how they come across, but it's still a brave and potentially foolish thing for somebody who is lying to do.

Not even a little bit. People who are actually victims and come forward are the brave ones. Foolish? Absolutely. These are two proven liars who are clearly out for money. They're pulling this right now hoping / assuming everyone will get behind them due to today's social climate.

Both are trained in acting. Plus this is an edited film. If something didn't come across right, I am sure they re-shot the scene.
Wade is a sociopath. To me he actually never came across as genuine. The way he speaks about this is rehearsed (you only realize how rehearsed it is, though, when you read his complaint and realize he is rehashing things from there sometimes almost verbatim). The fan who watched it said, he is trying to cry but he can't press out a tear and it comes across as fake. (Chantal is crying too. She does come across as genuine acc. to the fan. Probably because she actually does believe Wade's lies. Wade is lying to his family as well. With the Safechucks, I believe it is more of a family plot.)
We know less about James as a person, but for a while he wanted to be an actor. He may see it as his big acting debut. Frankly, the shaking scene sounds over the top. The guy claims he is so traumatized by just the sight of these rings, yet he kept them all those years? Even one of those more critical journalists singled out this moment as her "gimme a break" moment. I also found it interesting that Reed said it took James 18 months to bring forth the jewelry and it was the very last scene they shot. Dude is talking about graphic sexual abuse on camera, but somehow it is the jewelry that is the traumatizing thing? Sounds a bit set up for effect to me. Like Reed said after shooting everything else: "OK, but we still need a scene that will show genuine emotion for you. Wade has his burning scene and his crying scene for melodramatic effect, what can you offer, Jimmy?"
I also question what took 18 months in it? Did Jimmy have to go out and buy some jewelry to be able to show it on camera? Or did he have to talk his mother into giving him the jewelry SHE got from MJ and pretend it was for James? Or did he have to practice his acting that long until they got it "right"?
Also, they claim they didn't even know it was wrong and abuse until they filed their lawsuit, they didn't know how to feel about it, but now they are crying and shaking on camera. Okay.

As for this question of why someone would go on camera and lie about something like this? Is this a serious question? People are willing to do all kind of things for money. And sometimes narcissism also plays a part. Wade declared that he hoped his sexual abuse story would make him relevant and relatable. So of course he would go public with it, if being relevant is a part of what he hopes from it. James has always wanted to be in showbiz, so he also seems to have some sort of desire for relevancy. This is his chance for that now. I just read about this Jussie Smollett case: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jussie_Smollett#2019_Chicago_incidentWhy would an actor, singer do this? But he did.
Or why would someone do something like this? But she did.
