So, back from holiday (Majorca) as like I've posted a lot, I was amazed & enthralled by the amount of MJ I heard.
Not just because I was listening out for him but it was definitely a lot more than any other artist I heard. And tonnes more than any legacy artist.
Without exaggeration almost every bar/restaurant I heard him, from RTT in the first club & then Beat It the next night, to MITM, Leave Me Alone, Rock With You (an extended 12" I'm not sure I'd heard before!!), to the last night where in the restaurant this great group (amazing female singer) covering RTT and then Black or White.
The reactions from people as well....no other song was getting people grooving or singing as much. Was just amazing and really did make me dust of my butt & get my MJ respect back.
Was lovely. So yeah, a bit more Radio play in the UK and I'll be over all this.

The first evening I ventured out, and the first bar I walked into, Jackson 5 - who's loving you was playing. I was like "shut up guys let me listen!" LOL. Then, the 3rd bar I walked into that night played Blame it on the Boogie and Rock with You. Being a fan, my friends went nuts with me and started singing it to me. I filmed some of it but I think I will spare them the humiliation.

Sorry if this is a duplicate post. First I have seen it - it's from March:

Neyo, a more grateful, courageous and better fan than JT, Beyonce, Bruno Mars, etc.
His nose is kind of a turn off but I'm intrigued and curious about this animated tribute.

I know BTS are big but I don't know anything about them other than they don't shy away from being influenced by MJ. Doesn't surprise me that they don't give a fuck: Massive BTS fan here!!! I adore these guys! Saw them in Wembley recently!

Despite the senseless mass shootings and violence, Michael's music unite people in tragedies and boots the morals.

I continue to count things like this as "MJ Good News":
I was in Baltimore doing job interviews yesterday and the last person we interviewed for the day caused a unique cool MJ situation. When we got to the "What questions do you have for us?" part of the interview, he said "This isn't job related, but what's one thing about you most people wouldn't guess?"
My peer answered something about how he was a great sense of humor but most people wouldn't guess that. I thought for a minute and said "Most people wouldn't guess I'm one of the biggest Michael Jackson fans you'll ever meet". The candidates eyes got really big and he said "REALLY." like he was going to challenge me. My peer said "Oh, yes, that's a good one".
Then the candidate said "OK, Mr Big Michael Jackson fan, what album is Stranger In Moscow on??" I smirked and said "Well, it was originally written for Sonic The Hedgehog 3 but ended up appearing on HIStory. BTW, it's on Track 2 on CD 2 and Track 3 on Side 4 of the vinyl, which I own".
The candidate said "Daaaaaaamn! OK! You are a big fan!" LOL. It was a really cool moment. My peer (who is, let's say, musically challenged) laughed and said "Dammit, I know I've never even heard that song so I would have failed" lol

I was interviewing & the candidates had to do a quick summary about themselves. One of this guys slides was 3 pics of MJ (my favourite pics btw (the RTT cover, the pic of Jam vid with him on his toes)). Anyway, he went into a big monologue about how MJ was such an inspiration to him & why etc. My eyes obviously lit up & my colleague knew I was a big MJ fan so was laughing. I asked favourite album & song and his answer was Dangerous / WII (the correct answers). Anyway he has a full sleeve of MJ tattoos from the Bad logo and a full pic of MJ (the UK cover of Who Is It!). So yeah, I know this was before LN but he's still a huge fan and on Twitter lambasting LN. It was really cool. Oh and yes, he got the job

I also had a kind of similar experience. In 2005. For my English IGCSE exam, the essay question asked something like "Write about an injustice in the world that bothers you". This coincides with his trial. So I wrote about how the media portrayed him and how it is very dangerous not to assume someone is innocent until proven otherwise. How people should not be judged by their looks or their eccentricities etc. University of Liverpool required a C for my acceptance. I got a B+ for my exam. So in a way MJ helped me get my uni degree
