The missus has always been a bit of a Robbie fan. I used to hate him for no apparent reason, but she's worn me down over the years to the point where I find myself listening to some of his stuff off my own back. I know russtcb is a bit of a fan. This song is my favourite of his, a beautiful tribute to his late manager.

There was an MJ fan I was good mates with -Tony was close with him also- Owen, lovely guy actually who’s also a massive Robbie fan. He commented on something Robbie said online and Robbie FaceTimed him out of the blue and had a great chat with Owen. I thought that was pretty cool. When Robbie got kicked out of Take That he really despised them and never failed to rub salt in it. But out of great pain comes great art I guess. This one is perfection. When he sang this live he’d occasionally change the lyrics from “Well thank you, it was a real blast” to Well FUCK YOU, it was a real blast!” Sooooooo much hatred Robbie. Calm down. Obviously he got over it and reconciled with Take That, well Gary Barlow. He hated Gary’s guts to point where it’s unhealthy. Robbie Williams No Regrets

It's been ages since he did a new studio album. Heavy Entertainment Show was 2016. I know he did that Christmas album and an orchestral compilation, but 8yrs is a pretty long gap between albums of original material. Hope he does one this year.

Was it you or Nigel who was the PSB nut? Another great Robbie song is Advertising Space, about Elvis/meeting LMP. Supreme also. 2010 me would have a shit fit at what I'm saying now. I really, really disliked him back in the day. But I dunno, you get older and realise you were just being a knobhead, y'know?

Neil Tennant of PSB’s and Neil Hannon of The Devine Comedy act as the voices in Robbie’s head as he wrestles with his demons. It’s one of the best pop songs to come out of the 90’s in my honest opinion.

I remember renting out Nightlife from the library back in the day when people used to do things like that. I recall quite liking it and the insanely long song titles.

I think you’ed enjoy the Behaviour album from 1990. Neil is brilliant writer imho.

Also the beautiful Kings Cross from the Actually album. Neil’s lyrics really resonate with me for one reason or another.
Pet Shop Boys: Kings Cross
The man at the back of the queue was sent To feel the smack of firm government Linger by the flyposter, for a fight It's the same story every night I've been hurt and we've been had You leave home, and you don't go back
Someone told me Monday, someone told me Saturday Wait until tomorrow and there's still no way Read it in a book or write it in a letter Wake up in the morning and there's still no guarantee
Only last night I found myself lost By the station called King's Cross Dead and wounded on either side You know it's only a matter of time I've been good and I've been bad I've been guilty of hanging around
Someone told me Monday, someone told me Saturday Wait until tomorrow and there's still no way Read it in a book or write it in a letter Wake up in the morning and there's still no guarantee
So I went looking out today For the one who got away Murder walking round the block Ending up in King's Cross Good luck, bad luck waiting in a line It takes more than the matter of time
Someone told me Monday, someone told me Saturday Wait until tomorrow and there's still no way Read it in a book or write it in a letter Wake up in the morning and there's still no guarantee
Someone told me Monday, someone told me Saturday Wait until tomorrow and there's still no way Read it in a book or write it in a letter Wake up in the morning and there's still no guarantee And there's still no guarantee There is still no guarantee
