This is big news here, and concerns trashy English talk show Jeremy Kyle

Apparently a guest killed himself after being humiliated on it, after failing a lie detector test. I think its a good move this garbage has been canned. Someone called it a "Human bear baiting" show and it seemed to always show low class uneducated people who were mostly white and working/benefit class and expose their weaknesses, mostly through unfaithfulness, sexual looseness and drugs/thievery. A lot of the guests would classed as "CHAVS" and Kyle himself of a higher social class would confront them and judge them, saying things such as "Remove that piece of trash from my stage" and it was obvious people found this funny and it was more of the Cameroonite era of bashing the working class and uneducated and exacerbating the stereotype of the Sun reading, uneducated, toothless, burberry wearing chav who lives in an estate and exists on lager and football, hates the immigrants but eats curry and fried chicken like no one's home.
I read the book "Chavs - Demonization of the working class" by Owen Jones, which sums up the stereotype of the persons who appear on Jeremy Kyle and similar shows like Trish Goddard. Some of these people are stupid, but we live in an age of extreme greed, dog eat dog and love to point out that low class people are scum through the media with shows like this, Pay or we will take it away, Benefit Street, anything on Gypsies and travellers, Shameless and shows where rich people live like the poor and all the other, all judgemental and mocking the working class. This banning of this show may see the image of poor bashing end. Not every poor person or beneficiary is there through choice, many have unfortunate and unforseen circumstances, death, job loss, unplanned pregnancies etc.
I have always been against this kind of rubbishy TV chat show seen around the world like Oprah Winfrey, Ricki Lake (Which brought the head bobbing, angry systa Shaniqua stereotype to the world), Maury Povich (Which has regular DNA testing for fathers and exposes slutty females, mostly of the Black or Redneck persuasion), Dr, Phil, Heraldo, Flavor of Love, Wifes of Atlanta, My Baby Mommas - all these shows that poke fun as the moralless working class and poor people.
In amongst unfaithfulness and stupidity these shows also indulge in fat shaming, sex changes, transgender people, secrets, love children, mental illness people and people with incurable disease and "freaks" (I hate that word but is there a better one to describe them?)
Do you agree with me that they amde the right decision in cancelling Jeremy Kyle and do you agree we need to move to a more compassionate society where people and the media can stop being so judgemental and dumping on the disadvantaged. Half of the time these people do not know they are being humiliated on public TV.
Even worse is they play Jeremy Kyle and Trisha here in New Zealand. i work early mornings, so may have the TV on as background noise during the afternoon and you can't escape these trash shows (Usually there is something good on Al Jazeera or BBC)
