My friend and I just split it - so we pay $5 a month each (ยฃ2.42). No way I'd pay $10 a month for D+ and if it goes up I'll almost certainly cancel, but $5 is small enough that I'm happy to keep it on in the interim. It's basically all you can eat Simpsons, with Disney on the side for me. A good selection of movies too for that price, but you'd expect that given what's now under the Disney umbrella. I do watch Netflix a lot more, but they are pumping out a looooot more content than Disney.
If I had kids though, it'd be pretty essential. Especially in lockdown right now haha. I've read lots of parents say that actually.
My 18 year old stepdaughter splits Disney + with four of her friends. Of course, I get to watch it free when I can, but then I do pay for Netflix which we ALL watch. I'd say Netflix holds our interest more so far. Their original content has come a long way now.But I still have a few Marvel films to watch! Absolutely. There's a lot of crap Netflix Original content, but at the same time there is also a lootttt of fantastic Netflix Original material too.
Every few months it feels like something new on Netflix goes viral - be it organically and/or thanks to their great marketing. Right now that just happens to be Tiger King.

I don't really understand the argument that SW has never had spectacular writing to try and justify the abysmally bad writing in TROS. The originals worked because it was charming new experience, all TROS does is use that old stuff in a much much worse way. No creativity that was present in the OT.

The originals worked because it was charming new experience, all TROS does is use that old stuff in a much much worse way. No creativity that was present in the OT. It's not an argument to defend anything. On the contrary, it's more like an accurate assessment of Star Wars which has always had awful writing anyway. But that's not why people went to see it then or now. For me, Star Wars should definitely have been left as the OT. The more films they make, the more gaps they're having to plug in which started with the OT anyway. ESB is the best one and no other SW film comes close to it. The Mandalorian isn't great story wise either. The sixth episode is the most interesting one so far for me, but that's not saying much as the other ones before it were boring. Unfortunately.

It's a plot point that they accidentally cut out when they were hacking together the movie

It's a plot point that they accidentally cut out when they were hacking together the movie Accidentally! In a movie that cost dozens of millions! The movie had nice parts but no storyline which I tend to find quite crucial in a film.

It's a plot point that they accidentally cut out when they were hacking together the movie As horrendous as the editing actually is (especially in that first half hour ๐ฌ), I find it hard to believe theyโd leave it out accidentally given how many times theyโd watch this film when editing it/working on it in post production. But then again if you told me 6 months ago this completely unresolved thing was left in the film I wouldnโt believe you either so who really knows ๐๐

Have to admit though, for all the movies faults the first scene of the film in the Emperors Lair looks incredible. Really love the atmosphere there and the use of the strobe lighting.
Also if you're on Disney+, you can check the extras section for the extras off the Blu-ray - even the 2 hour documentary that looks at the making of it.
