I listened to some, and I hope you don't mind if I offer up some constructive criticism.... but it took a little while to get going. I think if you're aiming to hook people in, you need to introduce the subject for the episode right off the bat, and get straight into it. I felt like there was about ten mins of chit-chat about not very much before you even mentioned the subject. I also think it could be beneficial to state what the subject is in the link, so people know whether it's going to be something that interests them or not.
Have you considered making it strictly a track by track album review podcast? You're never going to be short on content with that subject, and it gives the whole thing a clear identity. I know I would be interested in listening to that, at least if you were doing album reviews of an artist or band that I like.
Just some thoughts. Obviously it's your baby and you've got to do it your own way. I'm just sounding off about the stuff I like to listen to, as I do follow a number of podcasts, and all the best ones have a clear structure/purpose.

I'm just sounding off about the stuff I like to listen to, as I do follow a number of podcasts, and all the best ones have a clear structure/purpose. I very much appreciate the feedback. To be honest, the first two episodes definitely had some stumbling. I certainly rambled way more than I meant to in the first one. I pulled it in a little for the second one, but still rambled some lol. My aim is to get it more streamlined starting with episode 3, now that we've got all of the introductions / background out of the way. Excellent point about making the main topic clear at the top of each episode too. Starting with next week, I've got an idea as to how to give each episode more structure. Part of the plan is make sure to mention the main topic for the episode right near the beginning. I also hope to get better at keeping myself on track, so each episode is more focused. I did toy with the idea of doing specific album reviews and we do plan to get into that in the future. I want to keep the general topics in place for now and we'll plan to sprinkle in album reviews as we progress. As I said, I don't mind at all that you're offering constructive criticism. I greatly appreciate it! We're only two episodes in, but I'm hoping to make it into something people really want to listen to and I can only do that through pointers like yours.

Finally got an email about using copyrighted songs, so I just reuploaded episodes 1 & 2 without them.

I only got around 5/6 minutes in yesterday as work has been crazy, but I laughed at the minute long silence Russ!
Also, almost roared when we all got a mention! Will listen properly later

Or was it manually written by a lawyer? Quite curious on that.

Me too, when I heard the songs in the first ep I was like "This will be interesting!" Im pretty sure there is/was a copy of Dublin 97 that has Beat It muted because of copyright.

Will listen properly later Apparently that silence is some sort of issue with the way the episodes play through Anchor on a browser. I need to see if there's any troubleshooting available because I don't want people to have to sit through that every week if they're listening through a browser lol I truly do appreciate anyone on here taking the time to listen, so I was more than happy to mention it

Yeah, that's exactly what it was, just an automated email.

Btw, we're recording episode 3 in a few hours. I'm continuing to try and work on some of the pointers I got from here and elsewhere. It'll be out on Monday as usual

Russ, my brothers band opened for Def Leppard in Cork Ireland in 84. ๐๐๐ผ
Also agree about Fleetwood Mac without LB being a bit of a WTF! Although I like Crowded House, bringing in Neil Finn was a bit weird.
