Yes, they're one of my favourite bands. I've been listening to Zooropa a lot recently. I wasn't keen on it back in the day but love it now.
Glad they've finally decided to put their new album out, it was due last year but apparently they sat on it for political reasons!

What do you think of the new single? I haven't stopped listening to this. It's badass. Absolutely a rock and dance song mixed together.

It's definitely made my anticipation for the upcoming album much higher. This is easily the best "lead" singe they've put out since Vertigo and I'd dare say since Beautiful Day.

Bono is far too sanctimonious for me to take U2 seriously. What really irks me about Bono, apart from the self aggrandizing, the using famine to promote himself and the sanctimony is how he always crops up so predictably in EVERY music documentary about anyone half way decent, going "well, they wrote the rulebook for U2"... without ever saying anything even vaguely specific about what or how or what aspect of them.

I'm in agreement with your Dad. It's a damn fine album. Such a maligned group and I get a lot of the criticism; Bono has been a bit hypocritical in the past but taken on musical terms I'd say their one of the best band's around. It's a great album, and well worth a listen.
