If Smooth Criminal doesn't win this then I'm Elton John's fanny pack.

So hard to choose. If I was forced to pick one though, I would go with TWYMMF. Or Man In The Mirror. Or Smooth Criminal.
But I voted for TWYMMF.

I think Bad itself was a great single! It introduced his new image and just as a dance pop track it grooves and sounded incredible on the nightclub dance floor! For me it was life changing. Peeps can say the lyrics are weak but I think overall it really works well. Perhaps it’s dated? I don’t know, I’d say retro. Funnily enough I listened to the Bad album today in the car in the sunshine and blasted it. Every track from that album pops and grooves and it sounds fabulous. I listened to the remastered version from Spotify and MJ’s heartbeat was pounding on the intro for Smooth. I also love that for every single I literally see each shot film in my head or occasionally I’ll see a live performance version from the tour.

I love the song Bad, but better than Smooth Criminal or MITM? Come on. Can't believe you got two likes for that madness!!

I possibly wouldn’t be here talking to you right now if it wasn’t for Bad and that moment I first heard it on a dance floor in a nightclub as a kid. It was a transcendent moment for me. It woke a part of my brain and imagination that until that point hadn’t been awakened yet. I spent the rest of the weekend obsessing about this track and managed to get back into the club through the hotel kitchen on the Saturday and Sunday night and had it requested to be played multiple times. I wish I could take you all with me in a time machine back to that moment because it was unbelievable. It’s the way it sounded through the club sound system. I managed to get a look at the DJ’s 12” single at some point as well. MJ with dancers on the sleeve and the red Bad graphic plastered across the white backdrop. That was it! Life was changed! A week later, at home, my father told me to close my eyes and hold out my hand. I did so and he placed the Bad album on cassette in my hands. And..... not only do I also rate Man In The Mirror and Smooth Criminal, but every single track is equally important to me. Honestly, I was bopping to Speed Demon and Just Good Friends as much as anything else on it. Every single from Bad was a massive moment back then.

Lets face it, Bad was an albums worth of singles. MJ famously said he didn't believe in "album tracks" and you can really hear it on the Bad album more so than any other. Every track, even the much-maligned Just Good Friends, would've worked as a single.

Actually, you're gonna think I'm making this up, but he gravitates more towards Invincible. He loves Beechlips (Speechless) and You Are My Life the most out of all the MJ songs. I didn't speak to him for three days when he thoroughly rejected TDCAU.

He’s a fan of the Smooth Criminal video ain’t he? That’s kind of cool. Maybe he’ll journey backwards through the albums. Speechless and YAML are two of my favourites. MattyJam Junior is picking out the quality at least!

He also does the scream whenever I play TDCAU Brazil vid. Trying not to play too much MJ around him as I don't want him to be all "meh" about it by the time he's a teenager.

I think even if he goes through a phase or much of his youth not being too keen on MJ eventually he’ll gravitate towards him in adulthood because the moments your building with him now will have a profound impact on him. The fact that both his parents are fans will make him a fan through gradual unconscious assimilation!

My mum was saying how she reckons he's gonna be sporty as he loves kicking a ball. I couldn't help but feel like I'd already failed as a father. (in case you didn't know, I'm the least sporty man on the planet. I don't play it. I don't watch it. I have zero interest). He is allowed to express his own interests and tastes, as long as they directly align with my own.
