It's called The Haunting of Bly Manor. Same actors, completely different story - so technically not a sequel, but made by the same crew. I guess it will come out around Halloween.

This is great news. That cast was too good to waste on just one series. Loved the first series and will be watching this for sure.

Isn't that the one with Elliot from ET?
Was okay as a stand alone , I imagine a 2nd series will be milking it.

This has been in the making for a while now and the production wrapped earlier this year. So excited for this! Mike Flanagan is easily becoming one of the great horror directors of this era..

I really like Mike Flanagan's work, I've enjoyed most his movies and The Haunting of Hill House was easily my favorite series of 2018, not just a horror one.
The Haunting of Bly Manor is based on The Turning of the Screw, Florida Sigismondi directed The Turning which was a very bad adaptation of that novella. I trust this new series will have a superior quality even if it's loosely based on the source material previously mentioned since Mike Flanagan is a reputable horror director who makes movies with good stories.
If horror movies or series don't scare me anymore, I love watching movies of quality, with good stories and characters that don't use the typical horror tropes and Mike does it.

It's disappointing to know Mike Flanagan just directed the first episode but at the same time it's understandable if he busy directing Dr. Sleep or developing other projects. I don't mind if the series is gothic romance, Edgar Allan Poe is one of my favorite authors and many of his stories or poems have a gothic romance atmosphere which I love.

There are 2 and a half episodes left, but I'm disappointed so far. Not nearly as spooky as Hill House, more like a romantic story with a supernatural angle and it's a bit dragged out.
Let's see if the finale will make it better.

Watched it full now. I was so looking forward to this, but it's disappointing. It's more a romantic story, which is nice if that's what you are looking for, but as a film it's not even in the same ballpark as Hill House. Yes, it has a supernatural angle, but it's not scary or unpredictable at all. While Hill House is a 10/10 series to me, this one is only 5/10.

I have 3 episodes left to watch. I can see why most people, including me will prefer Hill House over Bly Manor but I wouldn't say it's a bad series. It's superior to The Turning even if it's a romance story, I appreciate the overall production quality and some acting performances. I'd say the actress who plays Hannah Grosse has been my favorite from the cast.

Owen has been ruined for me when I learnt the actor playing him heavily virtue signaled about LN last year.

Owen has been ruined for me when I learnt the actor playing him heavily virtue signaled about LN last year. That's a damn shame because I his liked his character too, I didn't know he did that but I guess if celebrities in general don't virtue signal these days they feel they don't belong in the herd of sheeple. It's a real shame because the actor who played Owen will be part of another Mike Flanagan upcoming series called Midnight Mass. I have no idea if it will be part of The Haunting series but Netflix will produce it too.
