I'm curious about the friendship between Michael Jackson and Corey Feldman.
I don't know a lot about it - except that they were supposedly close friends in the 80s and 90s. Any time I have heard Corey talk of Michael, it has been positive, he seems to speak very highly of Michael. I've heard a couple of MJ fans speak badly of Corey, yet I've never known Corey to speak a word against Michael.
I like Corey. I've enjoyed many of his films and I find him quite an interesting person. So, does anyone have any insight on their friendship...Did they ever consider working together? Does anyone know what supposedly happened in 2001, which apparently put an end to their closeness?
I'd just love to know more. Thanks guys.

I think the beef that fans have with Corey is his behavior in 2005 when he went to the media and played into the negativity about MJ by suggesting that MJ showed him inappropriate material when he was a child. The story was basically that Corey noticed a book about venereal diseases on MJ's coffee table and when MJ realized it he explained it to him what it was. I don't think it was anything creepy and actually Corey said he didn't think much of it at the time, but in 2005 he used that in the media against MJ saying "but now with all these allegations it makes me wonder" (paraphrasing).
I think it was a deliberate revenge on his part for 2001 and I think that's the beef fans with have with him.

Recordings from Corey Feldman's interview with the police in 1993 regarding the allegations.
The sergeant is grilling him, trying to pull a "confession" out of him. Corey claims in his book that during this interrogation he revealed who his real abusers were by name, and they ignored him.
This is the only version of the recordings I know to exist. I'm unsure if they were released through another platform. If anybody has more information on this, please share! I think Feldman's interview is a small but important piece to look at when discussing the Chandler allegations.

Thanks for the info/replies.
All I'd ever heard before was Corey saying that Michael had never sexually molested him as a child - even after media/police pressure to say he did. And after so many folk turned against Michael, I was always relieved about that. I always worried about other people being opportunistic.
I get a really good vibe from Corey in general. He seems to have had a difficult childhood and suffered some abuse etc, and he certainly seems effected by this. In some ways I feel sorry for him. There's something quite "lost" about him as a person. I guess that's what I'm imposing on him; I'm sure he wouldn't want random people feeling sorry for him.
I have good will for him.

I think Corey was unfortunately just another fairweather friend to Michael. His comments in 2005 prove as much, despite him acting like he truly cared post 2009.

I have recently been reading a lot of articles about Corey, and also watching interviews etc. I finished reading his memoir too, which was interesting.
I found it quite insightful, reading his side of the story in regards to the "fallout" with him and Michael.
According to Corey: Corey was invited to attend both Madison Square Garden shows. When he turned up, there was no VIP pass as promised. A body guard approached Corey and asked him to follow him into the venue. He ended up in a small changing room. He wondered what was happening, when suddenly Michael appeared. "Tell me it's not true, Corey?" Corey was puzzled, and said, "What? Tell you what's not true?" "That you are going to write a book and tell lies about me and you..." Corey said he was shocked and vehemently denied it. He said, "I am planning a memoir (which was later published) but it is nothing against you, and will say nothing negative about you or our relationship." Michael didn't say much, but walked off leaving Corey to have a chat with Katherine Jackson, who said Michael had been upset and paranoid about things lately.
Corey eventually went to get tickets, but still couldn't get hold of his promised VIP passes, at which point he ripped up his gig tickets and left. He said the following morning of the 9/11 attacks, he was very anxious about getting out of New York when he heard that Jermaine was organising a coach out of the city. Corey went to him and asked for help, and climbed aboard the coach. Randy pulled him off, and said, "Whatever Michael thinks, or whatever is supposed to have happened between you two, Michael doesn't want you on here. You have to leave."
That was the end of it, for Corey. He was upset, apparently, wondered why Michael was so distrustful of him when he had done nothing. He felt that Michael trusted the wrong people -and sometimes ended up pushing away people who cared about him.
Here is a clip, where Corey mentions wanting to hear some kind of acknowledgement regarding Michael pushing him away, but he never got one:
Also, worthy of noting... he recorded a song when he said he was angry about Michael Jackson pushing him away, and the lyrics include being left to die in New York on 9/11. The song was called MegaloMan, but is not available online as far as I can tell.

I like some of his movies (Stand By Me, The Goonies, Lost Boys, The Burbs etc), and I do think he's an interesting person. I'm enjoying following his career.
In terms of people in Michael's life, he generally said only positive things, always maintained nothing inappropriate happened, and said Michael treated him like a kid brother. Most things I hear from him regarding Michael are in a positive light.
If he ever wanted to get at Michael, or be negative about him, it would've been after Michael insinuated that Corey couldn't be trusted (about allegedly writing an expose - which never happened, of course), yet even after Michael cut him off, Corey said mostly good, positive things about Michael.
Out of all the people that genuinely treated Michael badly, Corey isn't really amongst them.

He actually has some of his moves nailed. The singing on the other hand? That's interesting, to say the least.

I think after he and Michael fell out and because of some of the things he said, it made fans and people in general look at him negatively, and rightfully so, but he was speaking out of hurt.
Since MJ's died as well as the death of Corey Haim, Corey has changed a lot and has been defending MJ. I think he began to understand why MJ reacted to things the way he did, especially after he reflected on his own life and troubles.
