Anyone else find this a bit disturbing? It's like a whole generation of people have never heard of the word "narcissism." I'm sure you all know the kind of people I'm talking about. The girls who constantly appear on your timeline pouting their lips in that ridiculous way, posting multiples selfies a day as if anyone gives a shit.
I struggle to see how these people don't see how cringey this looks to anyone with a modicum of self-awareness.

I'm gay, so these woman don't do it for me anyway, but I swear if I was straight, it'd be a major turn off to see someone so vain always taking photos of themselves.

That's why I cringed Chrissy Teigen posting pictures right after her miscarriage coming across like whoring for likes, sympathy and approval and I doubled cringed most people were praising her bravery and sending sympathy.
I'm sure there are more examples of narcissistic celebs on social media but something as personal as going through a miscarriage is not the kind of trauma to parade it the way Teigen did, IMO. A statement announcing what she went through would have gotten her sympathy anyway without the need to parade it with the pictures she posted.

You can base it on celebrity culture and narcissism and just the pure fakery of it all, and a willing public buying in to it.

Don't think there's anything wrong with people expressing themselves by posting pics online. If you don't wanna do it that's fine but trying to criticise others for doing it does make look very "old man attitude" indeed. I guess if you mean celebrities who are obvious attention whores at every moment I can see what you mean.

The odd selfie never hurt anyone, but people who can't go anywhere or even set foot outside their own house without taking multiple selfies to show the world just strike me as very shallow individuals.

We’re more talking about the people who relentlessly post selfie’s while perfectly poised outside a Bel-Air mansion or next to a Bugatti or on a tropical island or all three whilst wrapped in Gucci under a subtle filter of perfectly perfect perfection while posing poshly to a presumed perquisite of look at me and all my great greatness and fantabuloso ambrosia rice pudding. Meanwhile Anne Marie works down the local bakery and is happy to oblige in a bit of how’s your father for a fiver on a Friday morning round the back of the factory.
