Hungary has a field day with this today.
He is "S.J.":
The reason why this dude deserves every bit of the public shame is because he is a member of Hungary's governing party Fidesz that along with the Polish government are trying to lead back Eastern Europe to the Middle Ages in the name of "Christian" conservativism. Fidesz has been actively feeding homophobia and Szájer actually participated in writing a modified constitution that aims to restrict gay rights.
What do they say about how the biggest homophobes always turn out to be closeted gays?

They loathe what they are which is a cruel irony and heartbreaking. Heartbreaking when these closeted gays have a position of power that can destroy innocent lives in the name of religion or conservativism like this Fidesz guy. Liberalism needs to be embraced again but it looks like fascism is gaining ground each day instead.

I used to think that Europe in general, (I'm aware in Russia Russia is not the case) was more accepting of homosexuality but that incident with Szajer and the fact it's still deemed as a disease shows me how wrong I am.
Christopher Hitchens was right, religion poisons everything. Even in first world countries which in some ways have more advanced societies, they still have medieval traces.
