This is shocking. Another tragedy shaking MJ's law team after the death of Jonathan Steinstapir's daughter.

Wow, it's very shocking and saddening to hear indeed. Despite Weitzman's old age, his passing was unexpected. May he rest in peace.
It's also quite commendable of Jonathan Steinsapir that he has the strength to keep going despite his very close losses.

Howard has worked for MJ for a long time. He did a fantastic job on the Court TV panel defending MJ during the 2005 trial. I always got the impression he genuinely believed in MJs innocence and wasn't just a paid mouthpiece. For that I will always be grateful.
RIP.

Was he ill? Surprising even for his age.

I hadn't seen these pictures of Michael with Howard Weitzman and Johnny Cochran. It seems these were taken moments before Michael broadcasted that heartbreaking message declaring his innocence in 1993. Considering the circumstances, he managed to look snatched. After the release of Square One, it amazes me some fans continue to believe his legal team made MJ to settle or that they ill advised him to do so. I thought SO (Charles Thomson) explained concisely the law wasn't on Michael's side pushing the civil trial first leaving him with no other choice but to settle the civil suit to avoid his defense being revealed in case there was a criminal trial and preserve his legal rights.

My understanding is that this actually caused a change in California law where this could no longer happen.
