I appreciate this thanks for sharing it as I’m not on Facebook. I appreciate a certain amount of impartiality here because x amount of MJ fans telling me that it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread doesn’t really give me any idea of how good it actually is or isn’t. I appreciate Brad’s acceptance of some of the more difficult subject matter also. I'm waiting for the official reviews, watts and all once the show officially starts. The allegations will surely come up in every written piece but I'm more interested in the story and performance and whether it's a good show or not outside of the expectations of an MJ fan. But you have to say it's a good start that the response from MJ fans so far has been overwhelmingly positive so that's one hurdle jumped.

for the people asking where another part of me. there's no bad era in this show. i love that song too. yes it's sucks for us bad era fans but i don't think it's all that bad no pun intended. at least we have smooth criminal though. it's only a small part of it. i hope they fix that if it's gonna be one of the main songs. I've been reading this thread and your comments and felt the need to say something in response. As someone who actually saw the show AND honestly expected it to be trash and was ready to critique it to high heaven, I will flat out say it: THE SHOW IS NOT BAD AND NOTHING MUCH TO WORRY ABOUT OVERALL lol also, you saying there's no Bad era in the show is wrong. While they don't have any flashback parts for 1986-1990, the album in terms of the songs performed IS featured, from small segments to full songs. An segment of Another Part of Me IS in the show along with: Bad The Way You Make Me Feel (the slow version's instrumental was played during one of the segments) Man In The Mirror Smooth Criminal (a crowd favorite and the opening to the second act) the other songs: 2Bad ABC Beat It Billie Jean (the crowd went ballistic) Black or White (the encore) Blame It On the Boogie Can You Feel It Dancing Machine Don't Stop Til You Get Enough Earth Song Ease on Down The Road Human Nature I Can't Help It I'll Be There I Want You Back Jam Keep The Faith The Love You Save Money Price of Fame (played throughout the show) Rock With You She's Out of My Life Stranger In Moscow Tabloid Junkie They Don't Care About Us Thriller Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' You Can't Win when it comes to critics and writers faking outrage after the official opening, it's not going to be because the show is horrible, it's going to be because it doesn't align with the perception of Michael THEY have wanted to be the prevailing view for the last 3 decades and have pushed for. The show has moments of corniness and a few parts that can be easily fixed, it was good. The family isn't going to be happy with the portrayal of Joe, who is portrayed as strict, harsh, and emotionally distant. A scene of "Joe" slapping little "Michael" and "Katherine" consoling him to remind him that he was loved. That's one of the prevailing points of the show: Michael wanted to be loved and worked hard his entire life for the world to love and embrace him only for many to betray, mock, and try to control him. They're not going to be happy with how the brothers and Jermaine in particular was portrayed in one part. (He's portrayed as somewhat jealous and judgmental during the Victory era) It portrays MJ as an eccentric but kind, funny, and loving human being who paid the "price of fame" by giving up his childhood and any sense of normalcy for his career. It really puts forth that Michael was a musical genius who had creativity flowing through him constantly, whether it's song ideas, film ideas, and regularly adding effects and elements to the show, much to the chagrin of the tour manager and the financial advisor. The then coming allegations was foreshadowed with the tour manager being concerned about "this family he's bringing with him on the road" and how some of MJ's personal decisions were regularly talked about in the press. MJ's dependence on painkillers is touched on and seen as the result of the 1984 accident and constant stress in his life. The family's relying on him and guilt tripping him is discussed and implies the decision to do the Victory Tour was pushed onto Michael to make sure the brothers and Joe were financially secure after the success of Thriller Another ongoing point is MJ's father figures (Joe, Berry Gordy, and Quincy Jones) guiding him through various points then reacting with some hostility when Michael decides to change and go on his own. Another thing: I'm glad Rich and Tone are involved because the dancers and Frost actually capture Michael's dance movements correctly lol I saw some french fans on Twitter making fun of the show when someone posted ending of the show, saying impersonators could do MJ better than Myles Frost. I've seen several videos of various impersonators and I have to call BS on that. Frost was incredible I'm going back to New York this summer and planning on seeing the show again. I'm also going to Vegas to also see MJ One because I feel I need to see it now once and for all lol

I do like the sound of ongoing themes about his father figures and the sacrifice of childhood/normalcy to achieve what he did. Hope you enjoy it!

so i watched Brad lives
From looking at Brad lives he said from his opinion that the musical has funny parts and that the artistry of the show is nice. he said that the actors were pretty good. he said there was some parts of the show he didn't like But he did enjoyed most the show.
Brad wasn't in Michael life until later so he doesn't know everything about him only the time they spent and what Michael told him. he said it was nice even though Michael wasn't the one doing this musical and that Michael would probably change somethings around but probably would love the artistry of the show. since Michael is gone he can't say how he would feel about it.
how they do Michael voice is nice just he felt it's alittle bit too high. which Michael was soft spoken but we all know his voice wasn't that high.
he said that the music in the show was good and it was loud. he said the actors singing was great and that Myles portray Michael great. of course, he isn't Michael but he did him great.
now here's the parts that's very concerning with many.
Brad says that the show does have heavy subjects etc. he also said he don't know how the family will respond to them. also its can get dark at times.
Taj even said he worry about this too in his last live stream and that he not telling anyone to see the musical But he doesn't want the family to portray a bad and negative way. he knows that his family isn't perfect But he feels it will just give the media more outlet to be negative toward the family which they have in years.
Brad also said he wish he had a spot for the show but he loved it anyway.
So what my opinion about Brad opinion to the show?
i'll say beside the dark theme at times and heavy subjects it seems like an okay show. i'm am a person who love jokes as long they're not offensive or hurtful etc.
i still feel the show need some fixing. there are somethings i still don't like and sound so cheesy that i feel for MY taste i won't like.
now with the negative with the family i really have to see how the family feel about it before i can say anything. see, this is what i feel gonna cause alot problems.
we Really don't know how they gonna feel about it and how family is portrayed really worries me. like serious i have a bad feeling about it. i'm just being honest.
as for the show the show being dark at times and heavy subjects would not be for me as well. i'm am a person who can't be around things like that and if i could do the show it would be how it would FIT FOR ME. that's not my taste or personality. i have to stay away from things like that because it's wouldn't be right.
so my opinion about the musical hasn't actually change but if i had to rate it from listening to Brad would be 3 stars or 3 in a half stars.
like Brad said i think we all have our likes and dislikes and how a show should be made. so all of us gonna disagree with somethings and not gonna like somethings because all our tastes are different.
he made a good example like one person would do the musical another type a way while another who would do it this way.
see this the problem like i said earlier. this musical wouldn't exactly be for me because i'm different and my taste and personality is different and my point of view is different.
so i give Brad a shoutout for saying that because i think people in the fan community thinks everyone has to like everything. like i said about the this is it boxset.
while all of us had our dislikes about Michael he knew how to make things were everyone could enjoy. i know Michael isn't doing these things but i'm sorry. i just can't get into it.
not only that people who doing the show still leaves me uncomfortable.
so i'm gonna leave this here.
you wanna support the musical then fine that's your choice. i'm not telling anyone not to go i'm just saying from my opinions and point of view.
when fans disagree don't take it as: BUT IT"S FOR MICHAEL LEGAECY.
i usually agree with most things But this, nope. i'm sorry i just can't. i just can't do it.
it's like you have to be force to do something and but you can't because it will hurt you deep down.
so i can't say how i feel about the musical yet. it's up in the air. would i change my mind? that's depends. i have to see how the family feels about it first.
you can say i'm that type of person who waits for the "owners" for me to put my take.
so i'm still not gonna tag the show on opening night either.
Best Wishes to the actors. i hope they do something that i may enjoy in the future.

An segment of Another Part of Me IS in the show along with: Bad The Way You Make Me Feel (the slow version's instrumental was played during one of the segments) Man In The Mirror Smooth Criminal (a crowd favorite and the opening to the second act) How do i know that? i haven't seen the show. your opinion and review would probably be different from mines. in my opinion theses not parts their just clips. i want full. 😂😂😂 it's feels like Bad era is always overlooked. like i'm waiting for a show or movie to portray Michael in the Bad era. the other songs: 2Bad ABC Beat It Billie Jean (the crowd went ballistic) Black or White (the encore) Blame It On the Boogie Can You Feel It Dancing Machine Don't Stop Til You Get Enough Earth Song Ease on Down The Road Human Nature I Can't Help It I'll Be There I Want You Back Jam Keep The Faith The Love You Save Money Price of Fame (played throughout the show) Rock With You She's Out of My Life Stranger In Moscow Tabloid Junkie They Don't Care About Us Thriller Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' You Can't Win when it comes to critics and writers faking outrage after the official opening, it's not going to be because the show is horrible, it's going to be because it doesn't align with the perception of Michael THEY have wanted to be the prevailing view for the last 3 decades and have pushed for i agree somewhat with your view of course. but i think the problem is we need to look that people who are very serious about opinions and reviews of the show. i know that's hard but we just can't leave out the disagree reviews. you get what i'm saying? i feel everyone should have a voice. yes the media gonna say some stuff as usually. be prepared. but i'm talking about people who are serious. like really serious. whatever they fans or not and just want to see the show. i been seeing positive reviews and negative reviews mostly positive but you can't leave out the negative either. That's one of the prevailing points of the show: Michael wanted to be loved and worked hard his entire life for the world to love and embrace him only for many to betray, mock, and try to control him. oh boy i already know how this is going. 😓😓😓 They're not going to be happy with how the brothers and Jermaine in particular was portrayed in one part. (He's portrayed as somewhat jealous and judgmental during the Victory era) 😓😓😓 It portrays MJ as an eccentric but kind, funny, and loving human being who paid the "price of fame" by giving up his childhood and any sense of normalcy for his career. It really puts forth that Michael was a musical genius who had creativity flowing through him constantly, whether it's song ideas, film ideas, and regularly adding effects and elements to the show, much to the chagrin of the tour manager and the financial advisor. i think they kind of got his personality right. although Michael in my opinion Michael wasn't strange. maybe to some people but to me he was a normal human being. i remember him saying the media gave him a image which he wasn't. yes he kind, loving, etc. but he was also stubborn and didn't like people telling him what to do.... for example, there was a story about him saving a cat from a tree. yes michael would probably do that but in this fake story he didn't. i know it's crazy but there was stories like that that was even positive. The family's relying on him and guilt tripping him is discussed and implies the decision to do the Victory Tour was pushed onto Michael to make sure the brothers and Joe were financially secure after the success of Thriller okay that did happen so i give them props for that. as long it's not being harsh etc then okay. although some fans feels he needed to help his family. while i agree i feel it wasn't Michael place to help them by the time victory happen, they were adults. it was up to them to do it not Michael. Another ongoing point is MJ's father figures (Joe, Berry Gordy, and Quincy Jones) guiding him through various points then reacting with some hostility when Michael decides to change and go on his own. that did happen but i don't think berry was mad was he? everybody saying he wasn't so maybe i'm missing something. as long the hostility isn't harsh or anything. then okay with it. Frost was incredible i been hearing alot good reviews on Myles. if anything whatever i like show or not i give a applause to him because the fact he so young and talent. so good job Myles keep it up. dancing like michael isn't easy. 😂😂😂 I'm going back to New York this summer and planning on seeing the show again. I'm also going to Vegas to also see MJ One because I feel I need to see it now once and for all lol i been hearing LOTS of good reviews of MJONE. although some fans don't like shows in general have to do with MJ i would rather see that one then the musical. Which i probably won't because i live too far away and my family want real michael. 😂😂😂

I'm also going to Vegas to also see MJ One because I feel I need to see it now once and for all lol The allegation foreshadowing makes me side-eye it a bit though. >.> But I guess that's better than what they could have done. i think he meant the family. the jacksons. i think??? from many i heard there's nothing about the allegations in the show just people who thinks he guilty doing the show.

From Jaywonder review and opinions i give the musical 3 stars and from Bard review and opinions i give the musical 3 stars or 3 in a half stars.
while both reviews were nice i'm gonna choose Bard. because i like how details he was and kind of gave a better understanding. he did work with Michael later in his life. so.... right now i'm choosing Bard.
every review and opinions gonna be different. everyone gonna have their likes and dislikes etc.
so at this point it's is kind of up to you if you wanna go. not any person or fan. all i'm saying from my opinions and point of view i'm not gonna support a musical who people think Michael guilty.
i also have to see how family gonna see it first.
i guess i'm done with this until opening night or once the family thinks about it.

The exact line that Jay says the tour manager character in the show says is "this family he's bringing with him on the road". I highly doubt the Jackson family would be referred to in such a vague manner, and they never traveled with Michael on any solo tour he did. It's meant to be a very, very subtle foreshadowing of what was to come in Michael's future.

First Look: “MJ,” The Michael Jackson Musical, Poised to Be a Major Hit if the Pandemic Doesn’t Do It In I took myself over to the Neil Simon Theater last night to see “MJ,” The Michael Jackson musical. It opens February 1st so this is not a review, it’s just notes from the show. I checked the Ticketmaster site and saw that there were plenty of tickets. Indeed, i bought one at the window an hour before showtime. I’d been told that even though advance sales were iffy, there was a lot of walk up business. I was skeptical about that but the evidence was there. On a freezing cold night, with the pandemic hovering, and snow in the forecast, there were people online at the box office. I bought a cheap seat in the mezzanine, but the nice lady in the box office moved me down a few roles. (Thanks!) The young woman who sells the merchandise downstairs told me sales were good. “People really like it,” she said. An hour earlier, I had a bite to eat down the street at the Cosmic Diner, one of my favorite spots in the theater district. It was fairly empty, not what you’d expect on a Thursday night before theater. When I told the host I was seeing “MJ,” he told me a lot of the cast came in and out and that he really liked them, he could tell it must be a good show. “MJ” is written by Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage and directed by Christopher Wheeldon. The sets are from Derek McLane, a Tony winner who is also married to the show’s producer Lia Vollack. (May I suggest they fix their Playbill so the names are larger and in bold face? They’re microscopic now.) These people are all heavy hitters, they’re at the top of the Broadway heap. They know what they’re doing. There are three Michael Jacksons in this show: the adult circa 1991, played by Myles Frost, a teenager (Tavon Olds-Sample), and two kids playing Little Michael. I was hoping to see Walter Russell III, but I saw his alternate, Christian Wilson (who was very good). The book, by Nottage, is not linear. It jumps back and forth in time so sometimes Frost is on stage by himself, and often he and his younger selves are handing off to each other on stage, The conceit is that MJ is rehearsing his “Dangerous” tour and that MTV has sent a documentary crew to record the action. This sounds plodding, but Nottage has used this device to let Michael essentially narrate his own life story up to that point. “MJ” doesn’t go beyond these rehearsals. It’s a celebration of Jackson’s music from childhood through “Thriller,” “Bad,” and “Dangerous.” There’s some personal history and discussion of Michael’s growing addiction to pain killers because of the burns he suffered filming a Pepsi commercial. Michael is shown alternately as charming and demanding. He is also diffident on the subject of expenses. The one time Nottage grapples with harsh realities is when she shows an abusive and ambitious Joseph Jackson, who actually hits little Michael in the first fifteen minutes. She has to, we have to know what Michael is dealing with to get to this point in his life. I was really knocked out by two of the supporting players, Ayana George– who plays Katherine Jackson– and Quentin Earl Darringon, alternately Joseph Jackson and Rob, the tour producer. They are standouts in a very talented company. The choreography is actually exciting, and you can tell that Wheeldon– whose wheelhouse is ballet– has worked to reimagine Jackson’s trademark dance moves so that this isn’t just a tribute show, it’s theater and dance on a very high level. In the end, the whole show rests on Myles Frost, who’s got to sound like Michael Jackson without seeming like a Las Vegas impressionist, dance like him (which does not look easy), and convey a sympathetic character who we know, many years later, will meet a terrible end. Frost’s work here reminded me of Adrienne Warren’s Tony performance in the Tina Turner musical. There’s a reason why the audience– which was sparse– leapt to their feet at the end of the show. “MJ” isn’t ready for an official opening yet, but it’s in good shape. If the Omicron doesn’t do any more damage, “MJ” could be a major hit. My only qualms: Berry Gordy did not discover the Jackson 5, that was Gladys Knight and Bobby Taylor. The current scenario has some girl coming to “BG” to tell him about them. Nottage has got to fix that. And I would urge the producers to look at the lyrics of “They Don’t Care About Us” and make some edits. While the staged number is impressive, the audience may not appreciate some of the sentiments. We never did. But boy, it was great to be back in a theater and hear live music, see people on stage. If you wear a mask, and you have your proof of vaccination, you’re all set, and it’s very safe. And this is a good time to get into this show. After it opens, it may not be so easy. www.showbiz411.com/2022/01/07/first-look-mj-the-michael-jackson-musical-poised-to-be-a-major-hit-if-the-pandemic-doesnt-do-it-in
