at the end of the day people can go to musical if they want too. just because some fans not going including me if nothing changes doesn't mean we stop others from going.
at the end we don't have to support these shows. i find the one in las vegas petty cool, never went to it because it too far for me but i always heard good reviews about it.

I'd rather her not address it given her views. I think moving the timeline is a positive thing. Agreed. I will admit I am a bit disappointed that we won't get to see something Dangerous-era based, but if she thinks he's guilty then maybe it's best to see something that predates any allegations. Too bad the ultra-woke crowd will still shit on it, and the mainstream media will no doubt continue to push their agenda as always.

And so it begins with the woke, virtue signaling Broadway people. Sigh. I really don't have a good feeling about this. Fans are angry because of Nottage's comments, so they wont support it like they did Cirque. And the woke (most of Broadway) are going to use it to virtue signal. It's just a stupid mindset to fall into. I understand that there has been and still is a problem in society of true abuse victims not being believed and being scared to come forward because of it. But the "I believe everybody always and forever without hearing all the details about the case" overcorrection is just moronic. The correct response is to take all allegations seriously and thoroughly investigate them. That's it. That's all you have to do.

The fact she thinks he's guilty makes me side eye her involvement in any MJ project, even if it will not address the allegations. Besides it's sad that this way this show too will perpetuate the myth that MJ's career ended with Thriller. And how will it work? This way most of the music will have to be Motown music, like it's a musical version of The Jacksons: An American Dream.

I hope this stupid bitch musical fails I don't hope it fails. That would be put on MJ by the media, not Nottage or the Estate. But I can't be enthusiastic about it either.

Personally for me, the last few years of that timeline (OTW/Triumph/Thriller era) is just when MJ starts getting REALLY exciting. Granted I donโt know the story, but if it does finish there, itโs terribly premature considering SO much of what he accomplished artistically is after the Thriller era (also the image of him that represents this musical is clearly post-Thriller too).

Just saw where she followed this up claiming she'd been getting death threats all morning. Taj and everyone else called her out for the absolute bullshit. Silence.

But the media will always find a way to make MJ look bad. Maybe if it flopped then the estate might consider investing in projects that ALL MJ fans can enjoy, not just those living in the States.

I didn't see death threats. Some fans can be very heated, but death threats? I call BS on that.

Besides the woke posturing on social media which should come as a shock to just about nobody in the fandom, the musical idea isn't something which overly interests me anyway.
I think I speak for a lot fans when I say, I don't care to see other people's interpretations of MJs work, which unfortunately seems to be the only projects MJs estate seem interested in investing in.
It's a sad state of affairs that we have an MJ musical that nobody asked for and yet MJs last shortfilm masterpiece Ghosts is still not available on blu-ray/DVD.

"MJ" will have seven weeks of previews starting December 20 and officially debut on February 1, 2022.
Michael Jackson's musical runs from his childhood to backstage tour of the album Dangerous.
Running simultaneously with the Temptations' musical,"Ain't Too Proud,"we'll have a real dose of Motown and a third show in which Berry Gordy is a character. That's a record.
"MJ" is written by Lynn Nottage, winner of two Pulitzer Prizes. The soundtrack features the greatest hits of Michael Jackson, under the direction and choreography of British choreographer Christopher Wheeldon, winner of the Tony Awards in 2015.
The King of Pop will be played by actor Ephraim Sykes
We'll have Moonwalk, gloves for sale in the lobby and all together singing "Billie Jean in the theater. It's going to be a lot of fun.
