Love Diana for the legacy and the back catalogue, but not sure anyones checking for a new Diana Ross album in 2021. I will give it a listen and who knows, maybe it'll be good, but she's pushing 80, so I hope she's doing this because she truly wants to and not because she needs the money.

Since Michael Jackson passed away, Diana Ross refused to talk or interview about the King of Pop.
“Thank you” is Diana’s 25th Studio album and her first release since 2006 so it is a pretty big deal.
Diana Ross had already placated international hits before Michael Jackson became a symbol, initially serving as an inspiration to her company colleague —but gradually becoming an intense friendship that would continue throughout her career into jackson's last days of life.
In intimacy, the pair were even more united, as biographer J. Randy Taraborrelli, who wrote books on both personalities, reported. In call her Miss Ross(1989), Diana explained that the first encounter was marked by age difference and admiration: "I was older. He idolized me and wanted to sing like me."
In his own words, Michael classified the importance of his friend in his 1988 autobiography Moonwalk, describing her as "my mother, my lover and my sister, all in one."
The partnership of friends continued until the final moments of the singer, who passed away on June 25, 2009. Death, however, revealed a curious fact about the guardianship of his children.
Relying on his personal friend, his will —written by the star with the lawyers in 2002—pointed to Diana Ross as the guardian of his children if he and the children's grandmother, Katherine Jackson, died.
Despite the appointment, the singer did not have the need to perform the function, since Michael died before Katherine, who could be responsible for the guardianship of his three children until the end of the age of majority.
Even so, Diana still recalls the intense friendship in interviews, defending her friend even from accusations of child abuse.
For this album, the songs seem to fit well with Diana Ross’ current vocal range. She still looking amazing for 77 years old. Instrumentally, the tunes are filled with Motown and disco callbacks, like glossy horns and smooth, groovy percussion on songs like “All is Well” or “I Still Believe.”
Diana also integrates some newer sleek elements that seem plucked straight from her Las Vegas residencies, like Latin guitar playing and keyboards on “Beautiful Love” or “Just in Case.” She also has a few songs that are up-tempo and electronic enough to be considered party music–in particular, the second single, “If The World Just Danced,” and “Let’s Do It.”
Diana wrote these songs over 2020’s quarantine, and it’s evident that she wants to spread a message of hope and connectivity after a tough year. While listeners could interpret the content as love songs, it seems that they’re predominantly love songs to her fans rather than to any one particular person. Every song is inspirational in some way, and rather than classic moody ballads, they’re great for moving and singing.
And Diana's respect and love for Michael turned into a song.
"The Answer's Always Love".
“The Answer’s Always Love” is a clear tribute to Michael Jackson and concerns similar themes to “Man in the Mirror” (i.e., “What if there were no problems that we couldn’t solve? / What if the only thing we needed to do was get involved? / That’s when we’d all know we are one.”).
The song was written by Siedah Garrett and Barry Eastmond so there is no surprise that the song as a “Man In The Mirror” feel as Garrett wrote the song for Michael for the BAD album, followed by “Keep The Faith” on the Dangerous Album.
The lyrics also includes “What if there were no boundaries to keep us apart?/ What if the only thing we made was music, love and art?”
The song really feel as a reminder of both stars relationship and connection. She sings it in a way that remind Michael’s singing techniques and it is a beautiful tribute to Michael.
Diana Ross has not confirmed or denied that the song is dedicated to Michael but once you hear it, you will know.
"I spent the past year recording new music and this song is a reflection of the joy, love and gratitude I feel every day. It's an album of great appreciation for life, and for all of you," she said.
