http://instagr.am/p/BZLFlzBAO6N Lady Gaga has decided to cancel her latest European tour, which isn't the first time she's done this. She says it's due to a condition called fibromyalgia (a common syndrome of chronic widespread soft-tissue pain accompanied by weakness, fatigue, and sleep disturbances). Much like Janet, Gaga has form for cancelling tours and pulling out of shows and I'm starting to have trouble believing anything she says. Just a few of the reasons she has cited over the years for cancelled shows include depression, anxiety, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, anorexia, bulimia, torn hip, drug addiction, PTSD and now fibromyalgia. How on earth does she manage to get up in the morning with everything that's happened (or happening) to her? People are claiming the real reason she cancelled is cause of low ticket sales and I think they're right.

Well, fibromyalgia can be caused by traumatic experiences and stress, so it might just be a result of her anxiety etc.
I will always give her the benefit of the doubt, as I suffer from it and I know what it's like when people don't believe you, even my own parents didn't. But of course, there is no way to prove it, there is always the chance that it's just made up stories. But would Gaga be that desperate? I always thought that she's really successful.

Yeah I don't know. I always like to believe the best of people so hope she's okay. But she always seems to play the victim card. From bullying to sexual abuse to this. She's either extremely unlucky or.... Plus none of these stories came out when she was doing well, and now her last two albums have flopped... dancingmjsdream is fibromyalgia something you just get or have you had it all your life? Does it stop you working?

TonyR I didn't have it my whole life, it was a slow process. It's mostly women in their twenties/thirties who get it, but there are exceptions. I was diagnosed when I was 17, and I was glad to now why I have had this terrible pain in my back, neck, arms etc. But I was devastated when the Doctor told me there was no cure. In the next months, I kinda brushed it off and told myself it's not that bad and I can live it it π
. Then the pain intervalls began and they were traumatizing, there are basically times when I hardly have any pain and then it comes back with such an intensity. I didn't want to see anyone, I spent days in my room, alone. Good thing is, I have learned to live with it. I work out, I have changed my diet, I have my friends, music, books, tv shows etc. I'm a student and nobody in my school could ever tell that I have it. Don't worry guys you won't get rid of me! Sorry for the long text though π

Sorry for the long text though π Thanks for that. Congrats on being brave enough to live with it. It seems you have PMA (positive mental attitude), I'm convinced that makes the difference between someone who would let it get them really down or make the necessary lifestyle changes & move forwards with their life like you have.
Hopefully it will disappear as quickly as it came on - you never know!

I like Gaga, I think she is one of the better popstars of the modern era. I would take her over BeyoncΓ©, Rhianna or Bieber in a heartbeat.
A Million Days, Joanna, Perfect Illusion were all great songs from her last album. I think she always delivers the goods, and is obviously very passionate about what she does. As for the cancelled shows, that is up to her. Seems a bit harsh to accuse her playing the victim when she has alluded to mental health issues being a contributing factor. Anybody who has suffered from proper anxiety/depression related illnesses will know how crippling they can be. Fair play to her for not suffering in silence.

Stories about her being bullied or abused aren't hard for me to believe. I experienced it, my friends did, my family members... it's very common, unfortunately. I'm not sure about the disease, but I definitely give her the benefit of the doubt. At least she's bringing attention to these issues, but it'd be very desperate if she just used them without actually having them just to get out of touring. At least MJ was honest about his love for touring LOL.

The lupus, vitiligo, lung problems (I think)..
BTW I'm not saying I don't believe her, I always give people the benefit of the doubt. I'm just saying it's a little weird how much has come out in the last 2 years.

Even if it wasn't that serious, it might be better to quit now than giving bad performances and lip sync through entire shows. Gaga isn't the best and most energetic dancer either so there would be really nothing to look forward to imo. I think it's wise that she's taking care of her health, performing "for the next 60 years" won't be a easy thing to do! π

Meh.
I used to really like Lady Gaga, but I have to say, I've gone off her recently. I always felt she was one of those artists who had so much potential, but I feel her drive to be "relevant" in the pop-dance scene is actually hindering what could actually equate to some really interesting music that she could deliver. She's shown signs of this on her albums, but unlike Madonna, she's never truly managed to evolve or mature musically without reverting back to songs that sound like she's chasing for hits.

Did you catch Madonna's mash up of Express Yourself and Born this Way from her MDNA tour? Madonna said this was the one time she got pissed at Gaga as BTW was so similar to EY.
