Last night I watched Last Christmas. Do not! I repeat Do not watch Last Christmas! It was the most pointless ridiculous useless thing I’ve ever watched in my entire life.
I mean what in gods name was the point of this film?

Can't be worse than Christmas With The Kranks. That was woeful.
Christmas films are mostly dogshit, with the odd gem. If you want a good, recent Christmas movie, try Krampus with the wonderful Toni Collette - it's brilliant.

I watched Last Christmas on the premise that George Michael’s music would compliment the story and I like Emilia Clarke. Well George’s songs were absolutely pointless and may aswell not have been the soundtrack at all and I cringed for Emilia Clarke’s overwritten character. And I’m easy enough to please. If I’m some bit amused and can like a character then I can let a lot of things slide, but I couldn’t even pretend to enjoy this one. I’ll try Krampus at some point. 😎👍🏼

Krampus is definitely a good'un! Totally batshit crazy, great characters and gingerbread men who come to life. What more could you want?
In terms of lesser known Christmas movies, I saw Jack Frost a few years ago and it was really heartwarming. It's an old one, early 90s I think, but I find that's the best era for those kind of feel-good family films.

I enjoyed watching Michelle Yeoh, Henry Golding and Emilia Clarke flexing their comedic muscles. It's full of clichés perhaps but it's hard not to love it.

I’ll give you Michelle Yeoh. I enjoyed her performance, but that scene where the guy comes into the shop?? It was just too much. He walked in with purpose as if he already knew her? Couldn’t he have ventured into the shop and spotted her while browsing and fallen in love? I thought Emilia Clarke’s character was overwritten. They tried to make her funny, charming, clumsy, sexy, approachable, quirky, weird, broken, happy, sad, beautiful, inadequate………. Basically everything to everyone. Sure her face is adorable, hard not to fall in love with those eyes and that smile, but god almighty!! The script seemed aimless and pointless to me. So many clichés…..

Emilia Clarke can't act even if her life depended on it. Daenerys in GOT was probably the only good acting role I saw her in. I saw her in Terminator Genisys and Solo and her acting was cringeworthy; even when the movies are as bad as the latter ones, when people are good actors they stand out most of the times but not Emilia.
I saw critiques of Last Christmas on YouTube and they tore it apart saying the movie was crappy and full of cliches of romantic movies that are bad. I made the conscious decision of not watching it.

I’m a fan of George but don’t follow him on the regular but would imagine it’s a topic of conversation with his fans surely.

I really enjoyed this film. Are you a tad Scrooge this year Aaron? It was heartwarming at the end, which is pretty much all I ask from a Christmas movie. If it makes me feel a bit warm and fuzzy on the inside, then job done as far as I'm concerned.

Creating memories and moments to look back on and smile. But dear gawd don’t seriously tell me you rate this film! You were in that “ya know what, it’s silly but I like it anyway” moods. Understandable. I do it all the time. It’s a lovely mental state to be in. Peace and joy to one and all. Harmony and understanding. But watch the following; Home Alone’s 1 and 2, Santa Claus The Movie, How The Grinch Stole Christmas, Elf, A Charlie Brown Christmas, A Christmas Carol, The Polar Express, Love Actually, Bad Santa, Miracle On 34th Street, It’s A Wonderful Life…… These are a few of my favourite things. I love Christmas! I’m a massive kid in my heart!!

I've seen most of the films you listed, all very good. But I did genuinely enjoy Last Christmas. Perhaps you haven't seen many bad Christmas movies Aaron? Cuz I've seen tonnes, and trust me, Last Christmas is like Schindlers List compared to some of the trash I've watched.

I’ll tell you what sausage, just for you, and because I melt for Emilia, I’ll watch it again!! I mean if I managed to get there with Invincible how hard can a rewatch of Last Christmas be?? Last Christmas I gave Mathew my heart!
