Why would she expect to have a singing scene lmao. To me it seems like her disappointment is that she's not going to be mentioned by name and not going to have a talking part where they discuss her writing of MITM. It's bizarre to me that she created a whole circus around this. Reeks of attention seeking.

I get that she wrote Man In The Mirror and sang co lead on IJCSLY but really? She expected her character to have spoken dialogue in this movie??

Nobody likes an entitled person and she has come off really poorly to the only group of people who really acknowledge her as a talent. Although, I did learn recently her only contribution to MITM was the lyrics and all the music was done by Glen Ballard. I'm not saying lyrics aren't important and MITM actually has fantastic lyrics, but I think she lucked out getting a composer as clearly gifted as Glen to work with. Just saying it as it was. And the less said about her live singing as a backing vocalist the better. She made Sheryl Crow look good on IJCSLY and Judith Hill was and is leaps and bounds ahead of her.

It's a really strange move. Not just the fact that she assumed she'd get dialogue and created such a stir when she heard she didn't, but also that she couldn't be bothered to set the record straight when fans were going nuts on her behalf. She was liking tons of Twitter posts, so she must have seen that those people thought she wouldn't be in the film at all (I don't see why she should be in the first place, but clearly it does make a difference to the people who were supporting her). To then just casually post a picture with the actress who will play her, which she apparently took weeks ago, is odd. Now she's lost goodwill both among people who didn't see what the big deal was anyway, and people who were on her side. Yes, Glen Ballard's role when it comes to that song tends to get minimized (and Siedah doesn't seem eager to set the record straight on that either). She came up with the lyrics and reached out to him to write the song, so of course played a key role. But what makes that song to me are not the lyrics (as solid as they are), but the music (largely Glen's work), production (largely MJ/Quincy and the team) and performance (MJ). I didn't find Sheryl better than Siedah on IJCSLY live, but that's not saying much. I thought Marva Hicks did da better job than both of them, the one time she got the opportunity in Brunei. And Judith Hill was indeed a much stronger vocalist.

It's bittersweet to see Neverland sort of alive, the soul of that place has been long gone but it looks as beautiful as it used to be. I hope to see scenes with underprivileged, make-a-wish kids being invited to Neverland with their families to illustrate Michael's generosity and how ardent he was in doing good. Enough with the MSM's narrative that Neverland was created by a weirdo to attract kids for sinister purposes. Didn't I tell you? š š¤¦š»āāļø I really want to believe non fans are better than this nowadays and wouldn't fall for this idiotic, pathetic crap that would have worked in the 80s and 90s.

Re. Glenn Ballard. Notice how she didn't mention him during this campaign. It was all about whether Siedah is in the movie, never whether she AND Glenn are. I don't think Glenn cares either way though. Glenn is an accomplished songwriter beyond MITM too, who doesn't get his whole life worth of validation from this one song alone.
Re. Sheryl. I disagree. I think Siedah is a much better singer, plus had a much better chemistry with MJ. MJ seemed more at ease with her. BTW, Sheryl was on Bill Maher's podcast last week, talking trash about MJ (again), laughing at Maher's old and tired MJ jokes (he seems obsessed). So I'd rather have Siedah's attention seeking than that.

I know weāre going a bit off topic here but I never really thought he had a good female backup singer on any of his tours (Judith Hill excluded). I donāt know if IJCSLY is a hard song to sing or what, but none of his live duets of that song were that exceptional to me. Frankly, I donāt really even like Siedahās performance on the record version all the much eitherā¦ not that itās bad, itās just an average vocal that gets the job done.

Best 2 performances of IJCSLY imo were Brunei 96 and from the TII rehearsals. No Sheryl or Siedah. And what a shame MJ and Judith didn't get their moment together in front of a live audience.

Looks like the Estate-backed biopic has competition.

They cast Derek Luke as Johnnie Cochran. Some may know him as Mr Porter from 13 Reasons Why:
Looks like they're going for solid actors with plenty of experience but not famous enough to be distracting.

So now we definitely know they are going to cover at least the 1993 allegations.

It won't be a puff piece as Bohemian Rhapsody then. Good but knowing myself, I'll suffer and cry.

So now we definitely know they are going to cover at least the 1993 allegations. Good to finally have official confirmation of that. I wonder, are they going to cast Evan, June and Jordan? What about Sneddon? The legal ramifications of this fascinates me. Obviously Evan and Sneddon are both dead, but the confidentiality agreement from the settlement still stands. I wonder if Jordan could sue?
