Is anyone here a spiritual individual? Kinda started a new personal journey a couple of months ago. I can definitely say I'm a better person for it too, physically, emotionally and mentally.
I've started looking into various different methods of meditation and different mantras and the weightless feeling after a good meditation session is very special.
It's a nice realisition. Quite a moment when you know.

When I stay up all night working alone on a creative project, it becomes a sort of mantra and ebb and flow of energy from my brain, often resulting in me feeling fulfilled and even surprised in a pleasant way at the outcome and myself. That's my spirtuality. Creative = creators = creation. That is the concrete "God" I know and feel.
I have been creative and obsessively working on little projects since I was in grade school and the likes of MJ and his sort of extreme monk warrior practice of wielding and honing his creative energy is certainly one of the biggest influences in my life that will continue on in me as a diamond standard.

I was raised Presbyterian and was actually devout enough in my youth to actually give a couple of sermons on Sundays at 13 years old. However, I was also reading and studying the bible at the time, and in short order began to see the hypocrisy and contradictions in not only my religion but others as well. Now at 41 years old, I have a pretty negative opinion of organized religions as a whole (I'll keep those opinions to myself in respect for the believers here).
In terms of spirituality, I find myself craving at times for something in my life to give me some grounding or a centre. I guess I just wish I had something that could help me during stressful times or if I'm having a bad day. For me personally, it's been such an uphill battle keeping my mental health in check that I really feel I don't have the energy to explore mindfulness through spirituality even though I see the obvious benefits. For me, it's all I can do to just keep on the straight and narrow sometimes.

This is a really cool post, thanks for sharing. Yeah I totally get creativity giving that kind of satisfaction. I'm incredibly jealous of people that can find either a job or a hobby that involve this kind of thinking.

For me, it's all I can do to just keep on the straight and narrow sometimes. It's so easy to just say "you have to give it a go" like you say, but you've heard it before. The stars had to align for me to find the energy, time and interest to investigate who I am underneath and after that happened it all just fell into place. You can find mindfulness in so many different things that hopefully someday one will just CLICK for you and then that will be your thing. My inbox is always open any time you are struggling also, that goes without saying for anyone on this board. But honestly, I hate seeing or hearing about anyone struggling for any reason so any time you need to vent or need to reach out please do.

So I guess meditation by another name. It's whatever works for you isn't it?

I'm picking bits I like from different sources and I'm very happy. George said it Best. George Best.
