They really should mention the songs name in their post. “This Song” could mean any of the songs. So there’s about 3 weeks left until this is released? Has there been any promotional campaign for this? I don't know if they hire a company to run MJ social media or they do it themselves, but it's very amateurish how they are run. They need to make a change there. SMH. Also, we are one month away from Thriller 40 and there's hardly any promo. Meanwhile I saw on Facebook that Queen had posters all over the world in big cities just to promote the release of one never before released song from the 80s. You would think you can't fuck up a Thriller anniversary, but now I'm not sure. When is the promotion going to start? The Beatles have the cover of the latest issue of Mojo magazine to tie-in with the Revolver box set, and Dylan has the cover of the latest Uncut magazine to tie-in with his UK tour and new book The Philosophy of Modern Song, as well as the cover for the Mojo: Dylan The Collector's Series rerelease. Prominent Beatles YouTubers have received their early free copies of the Revolver CD and LP box sets to review and promote it. I’m thinking of starting a YouTube channel with an aim to getting freebie’s! Nice work if you can get it! The Elvis Estate have released a lovely little video focusing on the inclusion of Always On My Mind for the Elvis On Tour box set, featuring their curator Ernst Jorgensen. I’m a fan of all of the above but even I’m getting tired of the yearly same old thing. And I understand the politics around MJ is completely different, but where are these “Thriller related activation's” the estate spoke about? The Thursday night track reveal just seems so cheap by comparison. And wasn’t the track reveal originally on a Friday? Surely The Envy of All Estates can afford to hire a marketing genius to create a marketing strategy and campaign to create buzz and generate interest? They don’t seem to have any relationships with other entities outside of their own bubble. It feels so impersonal and cold compared with The Elvis Estate who has a wonderful person as the curator and face to communicate with the Elvis fan community.

Once again fans are doing all the promo and trying to create all the buzz. (And the Estate doesn't even jump on this bandwagon by at least promoting these fan initiatives on their social media accounts).

If I could like this post 100 times I would. It just keeps coming back to one simple thing that their actions (and in-action) through the years have shown over and over. They don't care.

It'd be the easiest thing in the world to retweet this and mention how the fans are getting hyped for the new release. But it always seems like the fan initiatives annoy them. "How dare they start their own thing, they should be happy with the crumbs we give them!"

I am convinced literally everything they do is run by one person using a windows 95 computer.

Instead they post random TikTok videos of people dancing to MJ's music.

They can't be bothered to copy and paste it on their socials though.
It's bizarre (yes, I use this term) they don't seem to realize that the major part of their weekly announcements is missing something everytime.

So 7 weeks or whatever it is into this weekly track reveal, who would say it's been a success?

So 7 weeks or whatever it is into this weekly track reveal, who would say it's been a success? It's very lame. The new Queen release which will come out around the same time as T40 is all over social media, but there's hardly any official promo for Thriller 40. I really didn't think they can even fuck up a Thriller release.

The only promo for MJ is those confusing condensed weekly tweets that sometimes omit the song title!

There are some people now on the Steve Hoffman forum who will not purchase Thriller 40 if the Kanye remix is not removed.
People boycotting an MJ release in 2022 because of a track and not the other thing.
We have come a long way since 2019 folks!

Okay, let's wait for next week. Maybe the promo will start around Halloween.

Has there been any promotional campaign for this? So there are two songs left to be announced? Doesn't look like LIML extended version is going to fit the little "40" logo, which is a shame. Hopefully we get Chicago 1945 finally? I find the whole idea of Thriller 40 a strange one. 10yrs away from a truly landmark anniversary, would it not have made sense to wait for Thriller 50 and do something more comprehensive including everything from this one era? They really should've focused on Dangerous or HIStory anniversaries before this IMHO.

About us!I wonder what their expectations are for this release? Is it just to throw fans a few crumbs or are they expecting anything significant? I guess if they release some sort of promo this week they have some sort of commercial expectations. If not, is it just a pacifier to shut the fans up? I really don’t get their process.
