From Elvis in Memphis. I was listening to this while queueing for security in an airport. I was genuinely GIDDY listening to this. Oh man what an album! Favourite so far.

I admit I don't often go to the albums when I want to listen to Elvis. Being that he didn't really put much focus on albums, I tend to go to box sets and compilations. Though some albums are just undeniable. King Creole, Elvis Is Back, From Elvis In Memphis, Back In Memphis, On Stage, That's The Way It Is and Elvis Country are all top notch. If you feel like exploring some younger Elvis but aren't ready to go back to the 50's, I recommend the album he made when he came back from the army Elvis Is Back along with Golden Records Vol. 3 so you don't miss the singles from those sessions (if you're streaming from Spotify.) Although when I want to hear that material I just go to this box set... It has all of the non soundtrack master recording from the 60's. Alternatively if you wanted to make a physical purchase, the Elvis Is Back Legacy Edition is a good option to hear that material.

Probably gonna get into Elvis some more some time soon. I enjoy him generally but don't really know all that much of his discography beyond the obvious ones.

This is my favourite album so far, and LOVE this song. I can't stop thinking about the The Thats The Way It Is movie since I saw it. I'm stuck on the midnight show of the 12th August Midnight Show. Im going to be focusing on How Great Thou Art, Comeback Special and the Memphis albums this weekend.

Oh thank you for reminding me to buy Elvis Country, I gave this a go last week and its incredible. I love the concept weaving through the songs.

The original 1970 version (the one with all the fan interviews) or the 2001 version which just focuses on Elvis with extra footage and different performances? I prefer the 2001 version personally.

I love most of the material from the June 1970 sessions (there are a few stinkers). A nice rundown... www.elvis.com.au/presley/elvis-presleys-nashville-marathon-june-4-8-1970.shtml

The 2001 version is much better (and quality of course higher), but for the life of me I cannot understand why they did not include I Just Can't Help Believin'. It's such a great performance and so representative of those August '70 shows.

Also, is there a list anywhere of what performance is taken from what show? I'm sure Suspicious Minds is mainly the 12th Midnight show, but the small game with the backup singer sounds like it's from the earlier show? Could be way off though.

Had these two remixes on replay for a good 3+ weeks now. Absolutely love them.
